Nicki Minaj is the latest Celebrity to sell her likeness for a videogame. We had seen Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone as Terminator and Rambo in Mortal Kombat 11. Naomi Osaka had been in Fortnite. Nicolas Cage became a Survivor in Dead by Daylight. It is interesting since many actors now are having a strike because they are about to be replaced by A.I with their likeness on movies. I don’t think the hardcore fans of call of duty asked for this. They want this cross promotion to get her fanbase to play. Make your opponent feel like helpless Kens in the Barbieworld with her Pink machine gun.

Generally, shameless corporate promotions are the realm of Fortnite. You haven’t truly made it until your parent company shells out millions of dollars to have a skin of your main character shoved into a battle royale. So when we heard Godzilla and King Kong would soon make guest appearances in a video game, Fortnite is where we assumed they’d show up. Not this time…the movie monsters are headed to Call of Duty!
Call of Duty fans, breathe easy — you WILL be getting a new game in the series this year. After that, though…
It’s November, so it’s time for a new Call of Duty. And this year, Call of Duty: Vanguard returns the series to its most familiar setting: World War II.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you know Activision has been embroiled in a massive scandal as of late — its sister studio Blizzard has been accused of misogyny and fostering a toxic, abusive culture. Some of the accusations are so nauseating that sites have had to post a warning before describing them. CEO Bobby Kotick’s response was typically Koticky (read: tone-deaf, arrogant and avoiding the issue), prompting Activision’s employees to stage a massive walk-out. It’s in this firestorm that Activision has been forced to reveal its next Call of Duty. So, uh….how is it?
Over the next few days, players of Call of Duty Black Ops Cold War may notice some frequent updates…hitting July 13 at 9 PM PT for players of the full game and July 14 at 9 PM PT for players of the Warzone spinoff. You’ll notice the return of a classic map and new modes in Cold War, a new objective mode in Warzone, and more Zombies-related content…all in prep for the launch of Season Four Reloaded on July 15.
Players of Call of Duty Warzone had to wonder what was going on last Wednesday, when a nuclear blast detonated over the Verdansk map. Anybody who was on that map was teleported to Rebirth Island, where they had to decipher some in-game hidden messages to trigger another event. That event: a time warp that transported all players back to 1984 and a new (to you) version of Verdansk, straight out of the past. Season Three of Warzone has begun!
Call of Duty Mobile is heading off to other shores for its April 17 update. This coming Saturday the third season will introduce lots of weapons and armor from medieval Japan, as well as appropriately themed maps to try them out in.
We should be getting some big info about the next Call of Duty pretty soon, but there’s plenty going on in Warzone / Modern Warfare to talk about. Season Five launched on August 5, in all versions of the game.
Call of Duty Mobile: Season Six
However way you answer the Call of Duty, you’ve got some new content to enjoy right now as Activision launches Season 3 in both Modern Warfare and its battle royale spinoff Warzone.
