Abominable Stomps Onto DVD April 14
Have you noticed lately how many movies Yetis are getting? Just in the past two years we’ve had Small Foot, Missing Link and a few others. The running theme between them seems to be they’re all animated romps for a young audience. Uncorkd’s upcoming Abominable breaks the trend by steering sharply into horror.
Rumor has it there’s a rare plant that grows nowhere but the Himayalan mountains. If it can be tracked down, it has the potential to revolutionize medical treatment. That’s reason enough for a team of scientists to don hiking gear, their best insulated jackets and their snowshoes, and start a vertical hike.
We don’t know if they confirm the flower’s existence or not, but they sure find proof of the Yeti when an angry, murderous one comes straight for them. The discovery could still make them famous…..if they survive the encounter, that is.
Abominable comes from producer Justin Price, director of Alien: Reign of Man and The 13th Friday (note that we didn’t say Friday The 13th, we said The 13th Friday). The film was directed by Jamaal Burden (Elves), and stars Zendaya as Meechee.
Abominable comes to DVD and digital platforms April 14.
A research team embarks on a journey to obtain a plant that can advance medical research by centuries. While stumbling upon clues of the previous expedition, they discover that a Yeti creature lurks within the Himalayan mountains and will do anything to protect its terrain.
