The Witcher franchise is very popular with gamers. So much so that a mini-game within the title became a full-on game itself: GWENT. It got so big in fact that CD Projekt Red decided to hold an esports open for it. The battles were fierce, the competition was real, but in the end, Frederick “Freddybabes” Bird took the top prize.
“Top 8 players of GWENT’s first Pro Ladder season competed in the tournament for Crown Points and a share of a $25,000 prize pool. Two finalists also secured a spot in the upcoming GWENT Challenger tournament, which will take place in December.
