Is Konami going to close their gaming division?
Konami use to be one of the most beloved video game companies because it made a lot of beloved games. There are many franchises under the mantle of this company like :
Dance Dance Revolution
Bomberman
Suikoden
and Many more.
Konami have a very Iconic lineup of games, everything was doing well on this company until they fired Hideo Kojima. Kojima was responsible for making the Metal Gear Solid Franchise the icon that it is. Fans were Excited when Kojima was working on the reboot of the Silent Hill franchise titled Silent Hills. It’s demo P.T was influential on the development of Resident evil 7 and Resident evil VILLAGE.
People want to buy that game but Konami cancelled the project because the company decided to concentrate on Mobile games. There is more money in Mobile Games, so I understand why they want that market but cancelling projects that their fans wanted alienated the gaming community. Their Mobile games never had the success and hype of their AAA console titles. So this decision really haunted them back. On the last five years I don’t remember any of their mobile games getting mainstream attention.

Fans are full of hope that Konami still cares about their franchises because the Netflix Anime of Castlevania is a hit. They gave permission for the multiplayer game Dead By Daylight to have Silent Hill characters like Cheryl, Lisa ,Cybill and Pyramid head as playable Guest characters. Metal Gear Solid is going to have a live action movie adaptation. So their top franchises still have visibility despite of being in production limbo.
Konami is currently trending on Twitter because of rumors that Konami shuts down their game development departments. This is proven to be false. There is no announcement but News sites had confirmed Konami is just restructuring and consolidating its current divisions.
There are old reports that Konami is developing games for the Next Gen but they are completely quiet.
Konami is still making a lot of money because they have side businesses like Gyms , Casinos and Pachinko machines.

Uh oh. When fans start to Boo, that’s not a good sign. Sometimes business executives make business decisions FOR THE MONEY! Those decisions don’t always turn out to be a wise move and they pay for it dearly. In other words, they don’t read the the language of their loyal customers correctly.
Coca Cola made a similar mistake by changing their formula for their soda. They taught the world to sing but they didn’t know the world could scream that loudly. Loyal Coke fans demanded that they CHANGE IT BACK!! That marketing blunder nearly cost them a bundle. Good thing they were able to salvage their business operations and keep going.
They must really be making money with Pachinko that they neglect and alienate their game fans with no remorse. They don’t care because they are killing it with Pachinko.
Konami has already Surpassed EA as the most hated videogame company? This company intentionally pisses off the fanbase like pulling the plug of Silent hills.
Castlevania, Silent Hill, Metal Gear Solid,Bomber Man and Suikoden, So many great IPs died because the company loves making Pachinko machines only known for Japan. They dumped the world for a dying arcade industry.
