Walking Dead Midseason Premiere Gets Praise

If there is one word to describe Walking Dead Season 07, it’s “divisive”. On one hand, several episodes, including the premiere, were very faithful to the comics that established the lore. Even having Negan kill Glenn in brutal fashion, as well as his arrival at Alexandria, and his fascination with Carl. However, some haven’t been so kind in their descriptions of the first half of the season.

In fact, many think the Walking Dead went to far in its depiction of the violence shown, and how the characters were depicted. This is despite the fact that the comic is just as brutal, if not moreso.

However, this isn’t stopping the cast from being excited about the upcoming back half. In fact, the producer of the show, Greg Nicotero, told Entertainment Weekly that he thinks the upcoming midseason premiere is one of the best episodes of the season. Here’s his full statement:

“I’m very excited,” said Nicotero. “I think episode nine is one of the best of the season, by far, in terms of storytelling, in terms of performances, in terms of audience expectations of seeing the band back together and putting our group back on their feet again. It’s very exciting and quite a bit of fun, and the season builds and builds up to an absolutely thrilling finale.”
