Three Kirby Games Coming To The eShop Tomorrow — But Which Ones?
Today Nintendo of America sent out this tweet:
To celebrate the birthday of everyone’s favorite pink puffball, we’re releasing 3 classic Kirby games in the
#WiiU#eShop on 7/30!
How old is Kirby? 23. When he turned 20, the Wii got the Kirby 20th Anniversary edition package featuring a soundtrack, commemorative booklet and the first five games from his main series on one disc. Some of them will be coming to the eShop tomorrow, but just three.
It might seem like a great mystery, but we can figure this out through the process of elimination. No games for Game Boy or Game Boy Color will be released on the Wii U, so Kirby’s Dream Land 1 and 2 are out. Kirby’s Dream Land 3 came out for the SNES, but it’s already in the eShop. So is Kirby Super Star, and even the obscure golf-like game Kirby’s Dream Course. Nintendo’s been putting Game Boy Advance games on the Wii U eShop, but the Kirby offerings for that handheld are already there (Amazing Mirror & Nightmare In Dream Land). The solitary Kirby game for the NES is also there (Kirby’s Adventure).
This leaves the N64 and the Nintendo DS as the solitary machines that do not yet have any of their Kirby games on the eShop. Which points to Kirby 64: The Crystal Shards, Kirby: Canvas Curse, and Kirby Squeak Squad as the three unrevealed games.
But there’s a wild card: Kirby’s Epic Yarn. You may have forgotten Nintendo started putting out Wii games for download on the Wii U (at least they seem to have). It’s been a while since they did it, but could one of the games be Kirby’s Epic Yarn?
Either way, two of these four guesses are going to be right. Stay tuned tomorrow.
