Those Who Call Announced For Next Month

Here’s the first indie horror flick Uncork’d Entertainment will be selling in 2023 — a tale of a backwoods cult they’ve dubbed Those Who Call.

Two nameless sisters are going on a road trip to Colorado (what’s in Colorado to make it such an attractive destination is not explained). They don’t make it there, however…they wind up stranded in an abandoned town with a non-functional vehicle. And of course, when you wander into the middle of nowhere in movies, you meet murderous weirdos. In this case, an evil cult is now after them as meat for their latest sacrifice.

“If you enjoyed THE LODGE, WINCHESTER and THE HERETICS, THOSE WHO CALL should be on your must-see list,” said Keith Leopard, President of Uncork’d Entertainment. “Headlined by two very strong actresses, THOSE WHO CALL has so much going for it. We look forward to audiences discovering it in January, when we release.”

Those Who Call stars Angie Sandoval, Yetlanezi Rodriguez, Reese Fast, Kevin Kinkade, and Addison Cousins. It was written and directed by Anubys Lopez, and it will be released to VOD platforms January 10 by Uncork’d. Here’s a taste:

Uncork’d Entertainment has acquired Anubys Lopez’s backwoods horror film THOSE WHO CALL for a first quarter 2023 release. The film, starring Angie Sandoval, Yetlanezi Rodriguez, Reese Fast, Kevin Kinkade, and Addison Cousins, tells of two sisters that go on a road trip to Colorado. On their way there, their car breaks down in an abandoned old town. Soon they realize things aren’t what they seem, and they aren’t alone in the forest. They find themselves being hunted by a sadistic pagan cult and must do everything in their power to survive.

This is a pass for me because it looks like a straight to Betamax movie.

The movie looks scary, this proves you don't need CGI and million dollars worth of budget to make an effective horror film.

Hispanic actors have to be in Indie movies like this before they get a lead role in a horror movie. Texas had a lot of Mexican population so the casting makes sense. Nice to see horror movies with people who looks like me.

That's correct, I also have only good things to say about this movie and I really liked the cast and how they gelled together to make an intriguing movie.

I used to laugh at horror movies because they were unable to make me scared but Those-Who-Call changed my mindset.
