Uncork’d Entertainment has announced they’re distributing the upcoming horror film The Hermit across digital platforms this March, after a theatrical premiere in LA. The movie stars Lou Ferrigno in an unexpected role: that of backwoods cannibal. Hulk chomp!
Teenagers Lisa and Eric have been dragged against their will on a vacation to the woods. They think it’ll be boring, but it turns out to be unpleasant for a different reason. Lurking within those woods is an unsettling pig farmer who makes his living selling jerky…but not from pig meat! Lisa and Eric are now in for the fight of their lives, lest they become homemade Slim Jims.
“I’m very excited to announce my first horror film, The Hermit,” says Ferrigno. “I’ve always been a big fan of scary movies and I hope this one will be on everyone’s list to watch!” “Lou Ferrigno delivers a performance that horror fans won’t see coming,” adds Keith Leopard, President of Uncork’d Entertainment. “The Hermit is dark, action-packed, and wildly entertaining. It’s exactly the kind of bold genre film our audience loves and we can’t wait for viewers to experience it this March.”
In addition to Ferrigno, The Hermit stars Malina Weissman (Netflix’s “A Series of Unfortunate Events”) and Anthony Turpel (Hulu’s “Love, Victor”). It is directed by Salvatore Sclafani and produced by Gerry Pass of Chrome Entertainment, alongside Sclafani’s First Child Prods. The film is Sclafani’s first English-language feature production.
The Hermit will premiere in Los Angeles March 2, followed by its digital debut a day later, March 3.
