The CW Releases Superman & Lois Season 2 Footage
Superman & Lois returns to The CW for its second season in about a month, and the network has released a one-minute trailer for the season. It’s our first real look at what’s up ahead. It’s also unfortunately squashed since CW chose to release the trailer exclusively on Twitter and in the “portrait” aspect ratio. Maybe a better version will come along later. For now, this is what we get:

“Always something to worry about, isn’t there?” utters General Lane. This is always true for Superman. We’re sure a new supervillain is waiting in the wings, but the main conflict shown in the trailer is between Superman and a new lieutenant at the Department of Defense who thinks the hero’s time would be best spent as a weapon specifically serving American interests. Superman tries to explain he’s here to help everyone, no matter where they live, but this guy will have none of that.
What’s different this year is that we finally know the “Lex Luthor” from another dimension is actually John Henry Irons, aka the armor-clad superhero Steel. Superman can always use more help. But now that Steel knows his daughter Natalie is alive, his attention will be divided. In other words he’ll know how Superman and Lois feel. Back home she has to constantly watch her hormone-charged twin sons to make sure they don’t copulate.
As for heroics, Superman will DEFINITELY be rescuing a sinking submarine this season, as all the VFX footage comes from that one scene — obviously the only scene that has been completed 100% at this point. Superman & Lois returns January 11 on The CW.
