MOMO: The Missouri Monster Stomping Onto DVD And VOD
When you hear the word MOMO, typically a freaky bird-girl comes to mind, unless you’ve lived in Missouri for a while. There, the name is more commonly attached to a legendary creature believed by some to have stalked the forests of Star Hill, near Louisiana, during the summer of 1972. Small Town Monsters, producers of documentaries centered around — what else — small-town monsters, are adding MOMO to their list of docs about sasquatches, yetis and other hairy beasts. Directed by Seth Breedlove, the picture is half investigation, half dramatization of the legend. According to STM, “the narrative sections appear as a lost b-movie from the 1970s, inspired by Breedlove’s lifelong fascination with grindhouse movies and creature features. The horror film depicts the widely accepted details of the MOMO legend and is eventually contradicted and corrected by the actual survivors who lived through the events.” MOMO: The Missouri Monster stars Adam Duggan, Sara Heddleston, Animal Planet’s Cliff Barackman, and James “Bobo” Fay, with special appearances by Janet Jay and Elizabeth
