Supernatural Is Crossing Over With Scooby-Doo
Supernatural is crossing over with Scooby-Doo. Supernatural meets Scooby-Doo. It speaks for itself. The only real question is why it took thirteen years to happen.
The crossover was announced during the CW Upfront presentation today. Stars Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki came onstage to introduce the concept and reveal they would be animated and placed into the Scooby Universe. We don’t know how much of the episode will be animated — we’re hoping it’s the entire thing.
Upon the reveal, Eric Kripke excitedly tweeted, “Known this for awhile, can now reveal how PSYCHED I am! I LOVED those Scooby-with-celebs episodes. Now to be one? HEAVEN.” As he implied, Mystery Inc. has met a lot of people. The Winchesters now join such ranks as Batman, the Addams Family, Cass Elliot, Sandy Duncan, Johnny Bravo and the WWE.
The upcoming episode will be set in the animated world of Scooby-Doo. It will be featured in the 2017-2018 season of the series. For those of you who gave up on Supernatural years ago and think it’s been on for far too long, and would never even think of coming back…would you do it for a Scooby Snack? Supernatural is currently in its 12th season on The CW. Season 13 will debut later this year.
