“Connect” is an urban legend. People say it’s a legend because they have never met anybody who was a real Connect. But what is it? A Connect is a person who does not die. That must be a legend. That can’t be real. Right?
This a historical period drama about female historians, who took their jobs just as seriously as their male counterparts. They experienced gender discrimination but overcame it.
In “Phantom School”, evil beings that feed on human desires are called phantoms. These supernatural beings are captured by phantom hunters, then sealed in beads, and kept in an underground depository.
The setting for “Branding in Seonsu-dong” is Seonsu-dong district, the center of Seoul’s marketing and branding world. (A dong, or neighborhood, of Seongdong-gu in Seoul.) The storyline involves two main characters: Kang Na-eon, a successful tough no-nonsense team leader at a marketing firm, and So Eun-ho, a “righteous” intern at the same marketing firm.
In “A Time Called You”, the first episode is set in 1998. A teenage girl, Kwon Min-ju, works at a music store, 27 Record Shop, which two teenage boys frequent. One of the boys, Jung-In-Gyu, likes the girl, and his best friend, Nam Si-Heon, is always pushing him to approach her. What he does not realize is that the girl likes him and not his friend.
“Death’s Game” introduces Choi Yee-Jae, a young man who is on his way to a job interview. He was confident, excited, and hoped once he got the job he would be able to marry the woman he loved. But on his way to the interview, he sees a man get hit by a car and die. By the time he got to the interview the shock of witnessing that tragedy had turned him into a nervous wreck. Needless to say the interview did not go well and he did not get the job.
In “HeartBeat”, Sun Woo-Hyeol is not your ordinary vampire. Rather than hunting humans as prey so that he can suck their blood, he walks through the night protecting them from other vampires. That is how he met Yoon Hae-Sun. She was being chased by another vampire, but Sun Woo-Hyeol rescued her. Since he was her savior there was no need to be afraid of him. Instead, they fell in love.
“Gyeongseong Creature” starts with Jang Tae-Sang, the owner of the House of the Golden Treasure, being torturously interrogated by a Japanese official. What had he done? Was he secretly a member of the Korean Independence Movement? Had he stolen money from the Imperial Japanese Army? Nope. Nothing like that. The officer wanted to know if something was going on between Jang Tae-Sang and his wife. Once he got the answer to that question, he told Tae-Sang what he really wanted to know. The official’s mistress had gone missing. Since Jang Tae-Sang was known as the “king of information”, the Japanese officer wanted him to find his mistress.
“Island” begins as a “once upon a time” tale of ancient Tamra, when two young boys, who were not really given a choice, were turned into demon slayers. Demon slayers were needed to rid the island of the lust demons. There was no other way.
“Revenant” begins with a subtle warning and a safety precaution. Doors are the passageways that connect both worlds. Whether or not you believe in ghosts, be careful when you open a door.
The story begins as a case of missing children. One child says she saw what happened but police dismiss her eyewitness account. But not everybody ignores her. Jung Yeo-Wool listens because she also saw a lady in a red dress when her sister died.
