Street Fighter Miniatures Game Breaks Its Funding Goal In One Day
No less than a day after we reported the Street Fighter Miniatures Game as open for business, Jasco Games’ crowdfunding campaign broke its funding goal within 24 hours. As of this writing it has amassed half a million dollars and it’s still climbing!
Once again, here’s what you can get: The core box set, which is $80, includes Ryu, Chun-Li, Ken, Zangief, Sagat and Vega figures, and none of the stretch goal content. Upping the pledge to $140 gets you the Boss Expansion, which adds M. Bison and Akuma, plus the items from every stretch goal hit during the campaign.. The current highest tier you can reach is $280 which gets you everything in the lower tiers plus character expansions from Street Fighters Alpha, III, IV and V.
There are rewards for going higher though. With every $40 you add to your pledge, new battle decks can be selected based around SF characters. Jasco is offering over 428 different cards in all.
When this was first pre-announced, we noticed the Angry Joe Show logo on the promotional image and wondered what it meant. Polygon has since cleared that up: Joe Vargas actually co-designed the entire set. Who knew he had those kinds of interests (or those kinds of connections) but his name is on a Street Fighter-themed tabletop game now. It makes the absence of a bonus figure of Joe dressed as Chun-Li even more curious. Maybe they’re saving that for a stretch goal…
The Street Fighter Miniatures Game will only be sold through the Kickstarter, so you have 30 days (29, now) to decide if you want one. The campaign ends at 10 PM on May 4.
