Street Fighter II Intro Video Characters Receive Names
Capcom has finally revealed the names of the two characters in the intro video for the classic Street Fighter 2 arcade game. The news was confirmed by Capcom in the Street Fighter subreddit. Not only did Capcom reveal the names for these characters from the intro video for one of the best and most popular arcade video games of all time, they provided them with their own personal character bios. Street Fighter II first hit the arcades, and it features a brawl between two men. Here’s the original introduction video:
These two characters aren’t actually playable in the game, and nothing was ever known about them, until now. The bios for these characters, referencing these two mystery fighters from the intro have the Street Fighter V logo. It seems to suggest that they could be added to the new Street Fighter game as playable DLC characters, however, that’s not yet been announced or confirmed. You can check out the bio images that Capcom released below. The black fighter is named Max, and the blonde-haired fighter is named Scott.
Street Fighter V’s free story mode expansion is set to launch sometime next month. The events of the game are set after Street Fighter II. Personally, it seems like a neat idea to canonize the intro characters and give them their own backstories for the Street Fighter universe. Street Fighter V is available now for Windows PC and PlayStation 4.
