SDCC 2017: Black Panther Villain Killmonger Speaks
The Black Panther footage at San Diego Comic Con was a major hit with fans, and as such, many are asking more and more questions about the film that will be coming next year. At SDCC, IGN caught up with Michael B. Jordan, who is set to play villain Erik Killmonger in the film.
As for what his motivations are, it’s simple, yet elegant in its approach:
“What I can say is that he definitely wants the throne,” Jordan told IGN. “He’s very strategic, thoughtful. He’s very patient. Very well skilled, trained to a T. He works very hard, and he feels what he’s doing is right.”
A major plot point for the film is that T’Challa (Black Panther) is assuming the throne that his father held in Civil War before he died. Now, many are coming to claim it for their own. There’s a lot of moving parts here, and it’s going to be interesting to see what all is shown and revealed when the movie comes out February 16th, 2018.
