Resident evil:infinite Darkness Trailer

Netflix released the first official trailer of Resident evil: Infinite Darkness. A Netflix original that is canon to the Resident evil videogame lore.

The upcoming Resident evil live-action film will  not be canonical to the games. The casting of Leon and Jill is enough reason to say they will take liberties. So this is a consolation prize for the canon purist out there. This is going to be Leon and Claire’s 2nd canonical adventure together. In a way, it is a prequel to the CGI movie Resident Evil: Degeneration. Degeneration was originally the second time Leon and Claire meet. I feel like that retconned that in favor of this series. This series is going to be marketed to stand on it’s own so you don’t need to play Resident evil or research the lore to enjoy this series.

The series is set few Years After Resident Evil 4 and Code Veronica because they look youthful.   Since this is Pre-Resident evil 6, Leon still works for the American president. He rescued his daughter after all. I want an Ashley appearance!  Claire looks like she just joined Terrasave on this show.

Fans of the Resident evil 2 remake will be happy because the voice actors from the remake will reprise their roles.  Nick Apostolides as Leon and Stephanie Panisello as Claire. Nick Apostolides managed to sound like Paul Haddad in the remake, which is Leon’s original  actor when he was still the naive rookie cop. Now he sounded like Paul Mercier and Matthew Mercier who voiced him in 4,6 and the CGI movies. They voiced the more mature and experienced Leon. That shows Apostolides’ Range an actor.

Nick Apostolides is actually a Resident evil fan. He cosplayed Leon Kennedy with an Ada Wong look alike.

My hope for this series is more shining moments for Claire because Code Veronica is not getting a remake due to the controversy of having a politically incorrect villain. Leon also outshined her in Degeneration. Ada Wong should also be on this series because she is Leon’s great love interest. Resident evil:infinite Darkness is will be coming to Netflix somewhere this year.
