Nintendo Switch Not Getting Mass Effect Andromeda
If you were hoping to one day play the upcoming Mass Effect sequel, Mass Effect Andromeda on a Nintendo console someday, now is probably not a good time to start holding your breath. The game producer for Mass Effect Andromeda stated on his official Twitter account that there are no current plans for a port of Andromeda on the upcoming Nintendo Switch console, which was just officially revealed last week.
Andromeda game producer Michael Gamble was asked by a fan about releasing Andromeda on the Switch on Twitter. You can read his responses below. According to Gamble, the game will only be playable for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 4 Pro and the Xbox One. However, Gamble did mention that he “can’t speak for the future.” So, that means there is a possibility it could happen later down the line. But for now, it seems unlikely.
Nintendo has been highly promoting the third-party support it’s supposed to be getting for the Switch console. However, it doesn’t seem that BioWare is a part of that initiative for the new console at the moment.
Mass Effect Andromeda is slated to arrive in March 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Windows PC. The Nintendo Switch is set to arrive in Spring 2017.
