Nintendo Reveals New Wii U Hardware Bundle with Mario Kart 8
Nintendo and Mario Kart fans who have been waiting on getting a Wii U might want to start saving up their money because Nintendo has just announced a new Wii U hardware bundle. The new bundle is pre-installed with a copy of Mario Kart 8 along with download codes for the game’s two downloadable content packs that were released in the last year.
The bundle was just released in retailers across the US, and you can check out a picture of it below. In short, besides the console, players will also get Mario Kart 8 along with all the added characters, tracks and vehicles for the game. The whole bundle comes for the lone price of $299.99 Unfortunately, unlike the older Mario Kart 8 console bundle, this new one does not come with Red Mario Wii Remote and a Red Mario Driving Wheel.
Besides this one, Nintendo is also partnering Walmart for a Wii U bundle with Super Mario Maker. That bundle will be available starting September 11.
Nintendo putting out some new hardware bundles, especially before the start of the holiday shopping season, is a smart move. Soon the shopping season will be ramping up, and Nintendo will have just put a lot of new product on the shelves. Not to mention, it is a good way to continue exploiting the strong sales of the Amiibo figurines as well.
