- Memorable Quote: “Hard, I decided to love.”
SUMMARY: A seemingly perfect OB-GYN hides a deep loneliness rooted in past family trauma. When a free-spirited neighbor and reconnections with her loved ones challenge her defenses, she begins a powerful journey toward forgiveness, love, and emotional healing.
♦ Can I Find Myself Again?
In “Love Me”, Seo Jun-Kyung is a successful OB-GYN whose life appears enviable from the outside, she’s accomplished, admired, financially secure, and outwardly confident. Yet beneath this perfect facade beats a heart marked by profound loneliness and unspoken guilt. Years earlier, a tragic accident shattered her family’s unity and left emotional scars she has refused to confront. In the aftermath, Seo Jun-Kyung cut ties with her family and threw herself into her work, determined to bury the past and avoid revealing vulnerability.
Her carefully crafted life begins to shift when Ju Do-Hyun, a free-spirited music director and neighbor, enters her orbit. Unlike others in her life, Ju Do-Hyun sees through Seo Jun-Kyung’s composed exterior and detects the quiet sadness she hides. Where Seo Jun-Kyung guards her heart closely, Ju Do-Hyun approaches life with openness and sincerity, inviting her to slowly rediscover joy, connection, and self-acceptance. Their interactions evolve from casual neighborly chats to meaningful emotional exchanges, creating a gentle romantic arc that carries as much weight in the characters’ inner healing as in their growing affection.
Parallel to Seo Jun-Kyung’s story, the series devotes space to her family, particularly her father and younger brother. Her father is still recovering from the emotional wound of his wife’s death and the way the family fell apart. He grapples with regret, yearning for a chance to mend bonds he believes are irreparably broken. Her brother, whose life was also upended by the past trauma, carries a quieter but equally deep emotional weight. As the series progresses, moments of everyday life, shared meals, small arguments, tender silences, become the crucible through which father and son begin to confront truths they had long avoided.
Ultimately, the series is about Seo Jun-Kyung’s internal journey from loneliness toward connection and re-connection, and finding inner peace.
