Ip Man: Kung Fu Master Leaps Onto Disc And Digital This April
Bruce Lee was a breakthrough actor who popularized kung-fu action movies worldwide. He made about a million of them, and when he died, everyone else made a million of them without him, sometimes using his likeness without permission. Lee-sploitation was a big genre for a while.
In the spirit of those films, here’s Ip Man: Kung Fu Master, a tale from the past…the main character is Bruce Lee’s trainer, Ip Man, decades before the pair met up. In those days he worked as a police officer in Foshan, China, and he and his wife were expecting a baby. One afternoon a vicious mobster is captured, and then dies at the police station due to unexplained circumstances. Now the mobster’s daughter, Qing Chuan, is out for revenge…and she’s targeting Ip Man!
Ip Man: Kung Fu Master stars Dennis To, who was in a previous Ip Man movie as well as Kung Fu League. No director is listed, but someone had to have done it The movie will be available on DVD, Blu-Ray and digital platforms starting April 19.
