Toy Story 5 Gets Home Video Release Date

Pixar’s Toy Story 5 performed as well as everyone assumed it would, crossing a billion dollars globally and becoming the third highest-grossing movie of 2026 (so far). But its tour isn’t over yet…the home video market still has yet to get its turn. Disney announced their disc and digital plans for PS5 this morning.

Toy Story 5 will become available digitally for home televisions starting Auguat 18….not too long from now. The Blu-Ray, 4K and DVD release will shortly follow on September 22. Like all proper home video releases should, the film will come packed with hours of bonus features, listed below. Annoyingly, there are a couple of things here marked “DIGITAL ONLY” and I hope that doesn’t become a trend. They are both the same Taylor Swift video, one with sing-along lyrics and one without. Maybe rights issues kept them off the discs — who knows.

We would say something about the film itself but we already elaborated quite a bit in the Popgeeks review posted here a couple months ago. Check this link to read our thoughts and prepare for the arrival of Toy Story 5 at home on either August 18 or September 22, depending on whether you trust the media complex enough that you figure they won’t just make your digital copy disappear one day.

Toy Story 5's success doesn't surprise me at all; the series has a way of tapping into nostalgia while also introducing fresh themes. It's great to see that audiences are still connecting with these characters. What I find fascinating is how each installment has evolved. The first movie was groundbreaking for its time, and with every sequel, Pixar seems to explore deeper emotional territory. Do you have a favorite moment or theme from the fifth film that really resonated with you?
