X-Men 3: The Last Stand - Talkback *Spoilers*

Sage...just give up. You're on ignore and you've proven to be typical 616 nerd comedy.

Consider yourself on ignore.

This board has an ignore function? I had no idea. I should look through the User CP a bit more.

But...some afterthoughts.

Whose arguing? It's fairly easy to know who the better fans are around here and whose pissing like babies because Jean did'nt inherit the power cosmic, this whole issue came out of some losers wanting everything to be precise to the comics and derailing the film for taking a sensible approach.

......Better fans? Wow. Even I haven't gone that far. How do you get to be a "better" fan than someone else? And this came from you being unwilling to admit that both approaches are just as nonsensical.

But, the truth is, you don't know more about this than I do -- I've probably forgotten more than you have on the subject, and don't even think you've read more than I have, kid. I've been a comic book geek since before you were born.

:eyebrow: Old people get on my nerves sometimes. You kid yourself. Being a fan longer doesn't mean you know more about it. And I hate that, "I've forgotten more than you will ever know" thing. I had a teacher to say that in my computer class referring to some other students, and he proved it by showing them they didn't know about certain kinds of wrenches(!), and also by being unable to (in a class that's also about cabling), call an RJ-45 cable by its proper name. I don't know if you've noticed, but you brought my knowledge into question before I did yours. You want respect? Earn it and show some yourself. You think just because I'm younger you can call me "kid"? You don't know me.

Oh, and Sage *is* my real name. I don't ask my friends to call me that. You should think before you start typing. Look at your post. Full of insults and comments that don't make sense. You didn't ask any questions, nor did you hit any points that I didn't address appropriately.

BTW: The quickest way to not get maturity from a young adult is by calling them "kid".

For the record, just because you got tired of arguing and decided to call me names and insult me before "putting me on ignore" doesn't make you the "bigger" man, so abandon that thought if that's what you were going for.

Agreed, Sage. I'm older than you myself, but age doesn't mean anything in this case, as you're one of the few people in this thread that seems to be as annoyed with the X3 Phoenix mess as I am.

Skyknight, you blabbering on about who the "better fans" are just puts you squarely in the camp of those who aren't better. I've been reading X-Men for a considerable chunk of time, and I'm very familiar with its history, and if being disappointed for expecting more from X3 than I got makes me a so-called "baby", then fine. Whatever. There's no such thing as a "better fan". And you and laudre are living proof of that.

That being said, I officially retire from this conversation.

*goes off to read the Dark Phoenix Saga*

Newsflash: Sage would have looked more credible if the so-called "comic authority" did his/her homework and did'nt look like a moron.

Skyknight, you blabbering on about who the "better fans" are just puts you squarely in the camp of those who aren't better.

Really? On the say so of some prattling baby who blindly praises only the original storyline and accepts no diversity of the story whatsoever? Fans like you and Sage are worthless additions to a large and acceptable fanbase for Marvel. You are the lowest form of audience, the unshakeable kind, no reasons given when opposed to how "bad" a story is, willing to follow bad gimmick titles (Cival War is'nt anything but a waste of your money just like House Of M probably was, wake up, and is insistent on how "better" they are as fans when their statments prove how wrong they are to call themselves that.

Wahhhhhhhhhhhh:laugh:

There's no such thing as a "better fan". And you and laudre are living proof of that.

There's such a thing as a non-diverse, childish, reasonless whiner and you've done nothing but prove that. Faced in light of superior comic fans, you run off with your tail between your legs.

Translation: I would've looked more credible if I'd agreed with tools like you and laudre. (And you would look more credible if you'd get off your high horse and stop insulting everyone.)

Gyarghhhh! Maybe, just maybe, people should try making up their own storylines, instead of just trying to overhaul things people have already done. Tell me, honestly, what is the problem with that? People refuse to answer that.

Acceptable to whom?

This sounds like Ultimate X-Men to me.

(Cival War is'nt anything but a waste of your money just like House Of M probably was, wake up, and is insistent on how "better" they are as fans when their statments prove how wrong they are to call themselves that.

What's this got to do with anything? I didn't read House of M, and I read all of one issue of Civil War. Really, I don't care for much Marvel puts out anymore. Its trash. Let me know when they go back to releasing stuff like Busiek's Avengers and Iron Man.

Wahhhhhhhhhhhh:laugh:

This an example of a better, superior fan? I'm glad I'm not one of those.

Sort of like you did when you "put me on Ignore", right?

Edit: I didn't call myself a "comic authority". That was the work of laudre when he felt the need to try and lord over me how much he knows about comics and I wasn't having that ****.

Ah, yes. One of the joys (and occasional pains) of superhero comics. I can't say how many times I've seen fantastic work done with that, and how much lousy stuff. Mostly, in recent years, it's been the latter. Given how Marvel and DC can't actually allow their characters to grow or change in significant ways, just develop them further within their already-established boundaries, it's the only real place writers can go.

(And what gets me the most? I have yet to see any evidence that anyone here reads any comics other than superhero comics published by Marvel, DC, or Image. ... Maybe I should start a thread about that.)

And, with that, I'm out.

That being said, I think Skyknight has some kind of inferiority complex and has to keep telling himself he's a better fan than everybody else while mainly just stating his opinions as the gospel truth, so I would just ignore him. He did the same thing a while back in the Wrestling thread and eventually left when he realized he was full of ****.

Yay--I finally get to see X3, so I go to this thread to see how other people have reacted, and I encounter this crap.

Reading this thread, all I see is a three-way immature pissing contest between Sage, laudre, and Skyknight. All three of you have made utter asses out of yourselves... (and on an off-topic note: as a Wikipedian, I'm highly offended by Skyknight's signature, with him bragging about turning a Wikipedia article and talk page into the same kind of pissing contest as he did here).

To any moderators--would you mind locking this thread or moving the pissing contest into its own thread?

Big whoop. If you bothered to read the article, you'd know

1. Applegate insisted I dump any cons and problems I had with the site IN the talk page rather than the article, and since he's one of the head honchos of the site behind the article, I complied

2. The argument has long been settled and we both came to a mutual compromise on balancing the article, I've actually mended fences with him, even if I consider the people he puts in charge to be biased Bruce Timm-loving knob-slobbers.

I'm not changing it for ****, someone had to tear TZ's shitty conduct a new asshole, I elected myself.

Never mind the fact that Wikipedia is the single worst place to do such a thing. Way to turn a place that's supposed to contain factual information into a means of pushing your own personal agenda. Do policies like "neutral point of view" mean anything to you?

Until you remove your signature, I will report every post you make as an attempt to spark an inter-forum war.

...Oppresing freedom of speech?

Well we know who YOU voted for....

Seriously, get off your pretentious high horse, the article itself prior to not just my, but other people's interventions, was following the web master's own agendas and hiding all of their flaws, including open and public criticisms of it.

It now has a netural point of view, both sides have agreed, but given you clearly want to be a pretentious defender for truth and justice way before the battle ended before you arrived, you're deliberatly ignoring that to continue a flame war you yourself are attempting to stop.

Pot. Kettle. Black.

The mods could have told me to remove that sig any time, the fact they hav'nt shows they don't give a damn for how badly my opinions reflect other people. You're not a mod, just someone wishing he had the power of Greyskull, and you don't Princess Adora.
