Wizard Opinions Thus Far?

Fourze opted to be a kind of show that a lot of Rider fans dislike, but it was a fairly well-made iteration of that show. Chances are if you didn't like it, there was simply no execution of the idea that you would like.

Wizard is a very different case. It's not at all difficult to imagine a version of this show that would simply be better. The sort of talent that backed Fourze simply is not in play in Wizard, outside of the direction.

Well, to be fair, being different doesn't make it good. Remember Go-Busters? And I agree that it was well made, but there were obvious problems that you either hated, or dealt with. It usually failed to deliver with all the plot it had set up. For example, I was interested in all of the Kamen Rider Club, but everyone except Gentaro becoming no better than Shunpei (whiny, reduced to a once-an- episode gag). Also, the whole thing with he Presenters felt all M. Night-ish to me. Lots of loose ends could have been handled better, to boot.

Also, Wizard has talent too, you know. The creator of Gokaiger and the creator of the first half of hibiki did this write it. Talent isn't fact, it's an opinion.

TL;DR Fourze was no better than wizard, and I can easily imagine a "better" version of it. Also, Wizard has talent too, just talent that some people dislike, just like some people disliked Fourze's talent.

Seriously? I won't pick on someone for taste. sometimes a show's sense of humor or characters just doesn't click with you. That's fine.

But Fourze literally had more plot in both its introductory arc and Meteor arcs alone than Wizard has had in its entire first thirty-odd episodes. In fact, Fourze had completed two plot arcs by this point in the show, while absolutely none of the questions raised in Wizard have been developed or answered.

If you simply find raising questions entertaining, that's fine, but there's a big difference between dangling a bunch of plot threads and having any sort of developed narrative. While I'd like to be proved wrong, I imagine most of the questions Wizard has raised will go unanswered by the show's end, just do to all the time the show is choosing to waste.

This is just a case of Fourze's villain not being a type of villain you liked. Sagittarius was a well-done honorable, human villain who is following a very specific agenda. He does not necessarily view the hero as his foe, and killing Fourze would not have advanced his plan until the very end of the series (where he tries it and fails). Gamou's just not going to behave like the Phantoms, who are clearly a more traditional type of Rider villain.

Maybe you should actually watch the movie? Because Gamou didn't actually have all twelve switches in the film. The Replica Horoscope Switches were, IIRC, used by Inga Blink to create a distraction so she and Black Knight could get aboard the shuttle. Gamou is consistently opposed to what the villains of the film are doing, since it is counter to his personal agenda, and he chooses to help Fourze beat them at the end of the movie.

Right, and you're just proving my point. There is no version of Fourze, no matter how good it was, that you would've liked. You clearly just have problems with what the story wanted to be about. On the other hand, Wizard is suitably to your tastes that you can enjoy it despite it not being very well-done at all.

I always enjoy your POV on things since they always seem to be so well thought out. That said, I happen to disagree here. It's not the concept of Fourze I have a problem with. It's the little things that, piece by piece, pull the show down into an unlikable mess. For instance, Gentaro is corny as all hell. Other stories have done the "I want everyone to like me" character and pulled it off way better.

The suit design is another problem. People can argue with me about plot all day--Wizard's suit design is in a completely different stratosphere than Fourze's. Some of those switches seemed intentionally designed to fit in stupid places. His design's idiocy was proportionate to how awesome Meteor looked, almost. The only mis-step Wizard's had was All-Dragon, and I'll forgive that since Infinity Style turned out much better than I thought.

Maybe plot (or character, since the only characters I really like are the ones from the first two episodes) isn't Wizard's strong point--but everything else is.

What other toku's/KR series have done the "I want everyone to like me" and of those which did it better?

Everything else is? So the Villains that we know next to nothing about are better? I mean what exactly is wizards strong point? I mean at first I loved it, but it has gone absolutely no where.

Villains aren't characters?

And, when I said other series I just meant other series period. But if you like: Daigo's way more likable than Gentaro.

And, fight scenes are pretty nice still. Suit design. Hell, even the music is pretty neat.

I wish I could have seen a better executed version of this show. I love the concept, heck I'd been wanting a magic-themed Kamen Rider show for years, but this show just bores me to tears. I don't even dislike the show as it is; it's just all very "meh" to me, and I hate the fact that I will never see a Kamen Rider show do the whole spell-caster thing again, because it's already been done. I feel gypped actually; I could have had spinach ravioli, but instead I get SpagettiO's.

it's after the final form arc, the ratings start to really go down, maybe this is the reason why are possibly getting the third rider for this arc to keep the ratings up, it makes sense.

so they predicted the show would flop so they decide to set it up with a 3rd rider? wow, we haven't had that happen since kiva.
