Why do people say Japanese names wrong?

I have been watching people post on here and for the longest time and I have seen people post Japanese names wrong. What I mean is, when they post a name like Wakana from Double they post her name as "Wakana Sonzaki" instead of "Sonzaki Wakana". Now, I know I may be nitpicking, but no one says American names wrong. No one says, "I like Oliver Tommy. He's Awesome!". No, it would be, "I like Tommy Oliver. He's Awesome!" So, can someone, please tell me why people post their names like that? Because to me, it seems wrong and almost like you don't understand the show you are watching.

I guess it's just used to what they're saying. Or they don't know the name is Last-First.

A lot of the time when Japanese people write their name in romaji they switch the names around--look at idol blogs and photobook and CD covers. Either way is acceptable, really.

the Japanese when writing their names in both romanized and Kanji forms, the position is different.
in Kanji form, the name is written as <family name><given name>.
but in romanized form, they follow the Western, thus <given name><family name>.

Most of us are from the west and we do things the western way.

Basically, I don't know why people are getting all deep and educational, i think it's as plain and simple as what he said.
