I watched the movie the other night. I can see the potential it has, but it was way too...tame...for me. The only bits of action in the movie (the baseball scene and the climax), you could tell it was rushed and wasn't given much focus. Plus, I hate movies that shoot in that deep blue tint to invoke the emotion of coldness. I actually like it when people come up with different takes on what a vampire is and how they would fit in modern society. Look at True Blood. Being sparkly and "vegan" don't bother me.
I was in Borders just yesterday and saw a whole section devoted to the books and others similar to them. I picked one up, read a page, then put it down. Not my thing I guess. Buffy was able to make a girl falling in love with a vampire interesting. Twilight, not so much.
