You can't really forget the stupid cop even if you want to. Thankfully his performance was good enough that I was largely able to get the image out of my mind while watching Gingaman.

I just saw the Gokaiger tribute to Gingaman last night, and it was so cool to see him after so long! Shame that Hyuuga was the focus of the tribute episode and he wasn't, only appearing for two brief moments.

That's because Hyuuga was the only one written in the script in the first place. Maehara found out about Gokaiger from Ogawa Teruaki, Hyuuga's actor, and wanted in. The crew wanted to include him but probably didn't have the time to come up with another script, so they had him in two short scenes. It was still cool, though.

Haha finally someone who feels the same way! I guess you saw Trick before watching Gingaman? I agree that Maehara does a great performance as Ryouma, and doesn't have the slightest hint of Ishihara at all. Plus it helped that his hair wasn't blonde :laugh:

Ah I see that makes sense. It seemed weird while watching it that they would give Hyuuga the sixth ranger more attention, rather than Ryouma since he's red. But in the context of Gai's episode being the centre narrative I guess it works. Wish Maehara was the lead in the tribute episode, but it was definitely nice to see Maehara acting again after nine years since his last role. Wonder what he does now after retiring
