Couldn't they have used past recorded voice clips for the Heisei Riders?

I would think that if you want to use past VAs clips, you still have to pay them some sort of royalties or something. Hence, or you do the etxra step and call back the original voices, or you grab new people that maybe are already with you and you'll end payin them less.

Just a theory, since I dont know how the japanese regulations for VAs are, and what kind of contract they had. But it seems likely to me...

There's also the chance they dont have these anymore. If you consider history of cinema in Japan, where there are missin an X number movies -and not only from the 20s/30s, from the 60 and 70s too- because no one has thought to preserve them, I can see these voice clips lost.

yeah it would have been epic if Kabuto voiced by the original Tendou says a line that includes "my grandma always told me: insert decade related quote here"

Toei not having enough money? Come on, if they're finding themselves short of funds they could easily cut some stuff for the sake of other stuff.

yeah..I really wanted that the original tendou a scene where he gives Decade a quote..:)

Toei is lazy and they probably believe majority of the audience are kids so no need to do that. The Decade series is to increase the toy lines or resell the leftover toys in some warehouse.

even though they (the original actors) werent physically present it the movie, it would have made a great impact if their voiceovers were included
