which ryuki is the best [PUNTED TO CORRECT HJU SUBFORUM]

well the series i liked but i was disappointed by the fact that they never had 13 riders all together in the series one of the reasons i like the special is 13 riders show up though i wish there was more.

I've grown to like the series ending more than I used to (mostly because if you take the "it all had to happen for it to not happen" approach, the reset feels justified) but I still have to go with the movie as being what I think of as the "real" ending. Everything goes totally bonkers and they break all the rules, made literal by the shattering of all that glass. It's got the necessary sense of scale while at the same time really being a fight between two guys (or one guy, if you look at it that way.) What's more, it's the ending of Ryuki's story, while the series felt to me more like Knight's. I know that you can make the case that the real star of the show was Ren, but for me it always felt like a two-man act and yet there's a reason the series is called Kamen Rider Ryuki. For me the final battle being Ryuki breaking his own code against the one person he would- himself- that's just about perfect.

Also, maybe I'm just a cold bastard, but I've never thought Kanzaki Shiro deserved a happy ending; were it up to me his Episode Final fate would've been even nastier.

Thanks Iga, you worded everything I felt about Ryuki's ending.

I just thought it was sad to see Ren and Shinji not remember eachother. It's like losing your best friend. The movie ending, was yeah, crazy. They broke all the rules and was basically a free for all.

im surprised people are voting for the american version of it dragon knight wasn't that good.

Dragon Knight's story was very strong in some points, especially towards the end and during the Torque and Sting storylines (trust me, I watched that show very religiously)

I really don't understand why so many rider fans are so biased towards Dragon Knight

Adness did the best that they could within the boundaries of what Soccer Moms consider appropriate for their children

The toys themselves and people thinking that it was Power Rangers unfortunately hurt it though

While I will admit that Dragon Knight can't surpass Ryuki in any shape or form, it is a noteworthy addition to a series that for the longest time was burdened with a horrid and disgraceful adapation

im not saying it was bad bad im saying it wasn't as good as the original or as it could have been -i do dislike the censoring or otherwise prohibiting they do. Im just saying lets let someone get killed its realistic we can't pretend it doesn't happen-personally i think they need to market it as a sci fi series rather than a kids series

Dragon Knight had a terrible... TERRIBLE ending. It was alright up until that part.

The TV special was fun... and nothing else. That ending (both) makes Decade's TV series ending look good.

The movie was alright... if only it actually FINISHED.

So I went for TV series... Lots of growth in the characters, nice plotlines, and an overall interesting if not a little dissapointing ending. But it was the series I grew up with, so it holds a special place in my heart.

Okay, allow me to explain something to you for a moment

Ryuki revolves around the idea of supremacy in it's purist form. Once you make a contract with your monster, you can't back out. You have to win

Because if you don't, you'll get eaten alive by your monster because you won't fight for it or get vented by the opposing rider

Ryuki has actual human death dude, something that doesn't translate well overseas where everyone who thinks that a TV series about people running around in funny costumes fighting strange monsters week after week is dribble and doesn't deserve to be associated with adult's and their higher intellect

Toku in America is considered "For Kids" and until we can get something over here like Garo and it isn't watered down beyond belief, I don't see that slapped on sugary sweet image changing anytime soon

Adness did the best they could within the mental boundries of a kid's show. Getting vented and getting sent into limbo for all of time and eternity until Eubelon rescued you was the closest they could get away death wise.

Very little of getting vented in Dragon Knight was sugar coated and I respect the hell out of them for doing so

Agreed, I wasn't really fond of the fact that it was a recap episode either

I already had to sit through that **** once after Sting's death :/
