For me, there are a couple of standout films that really highlight the magic of practical effects. One that comes to mind is "Mad Max: Fury Road." The chase sequences are just breathtaking, especially the storm scene where they used real vehicles and stunts rather than relying heavily on CGI. You can feel the weight and intensity when Fury Road's characters are flinging themselves around those massive machines!
I also can't stop thinking about "The Dark Knight." The Joker's heist scene is a masterclass in practical stunt work, with that flipped truck really giving a sense of chaos without leaning too much on special effects. Honestly, it's hard to believe how much effort went into each of those moments.
I'd love to hear your thoughts on more recent flicks or any hidden gems you think pushed the envelope with practical effects!
