Whats a good epic anime I can get into?

I say this a lot, but I stand firmly by the assertion that nobody's ever made a better mecha show than VOTOMS. There have been a lot of shows that come close or are just as good, but never better.

Yeah, for a 52 episode series it did an amazing job of keeping your attention. I was kind of disappointed with it's spinoff, Mellowlink though, probably because of that.

Personally the best show you can watch is Nana, this show is painful. You get so upset that you force yourself to keep watching praying for something good to finally happen. It is the best emotionally abusive Anime you can watch.

So anyone mention Jojo yet? I mean everyone should watch Jojo's bizzare adventure OVAs at least once in their lives. It's pretty much the manliest thing to ever see.

Try Golgo 13 if you feel serious shows that deals with assassins. Heck, Golgo 13 can kill anyone with one shot even if he had a relationship with it!

One of these days I will watch GaoGaiGar and Gurren Lagaan, they look pretty cool. I'm sort of in the same boat of looking for a new series to get into.

It's broadly believed by Evangelion fans that all of the main Evangelion "versions"-- and possibly all versions of the story, period, including weird crap like Angelic Days-- take place in a single continuity.

I hadn't heard about the continuity thing before, that's really interesting. Evangelion's one of the earliest anime I saw, so I've got a lot of affection for it, even though I would describe myself as "not a very good Eva fan". :laugh: My favorite character is Maya and the episodes I like most are the ones that would probably be described as the one-offs (or less charitably, filler)... the "we're stuck in the base with no power" one's great. I got kind of fed up with the whole thing after seeing End, though I imagine I'm not alone there. I liked the new movies though, especially the last one.

another Gainax work worth mentioning is Aim for the top! Gunbuster.

I don't watch too many anime, I only watch K-ON!! and Tentai Senshi Sunred now. I want to watch Gaiking Legend of Daiku-Maryu but I got bored after watching episode 1 and 2 so I skip most of the episode and only watch the lat episode, Gaiking the Great is cool
