What makes a great Tokusatsu show?

Don't you mean Blade?

Anyway, it's disappointing to see that the new Toho show has youngsters. While I hate Gransazer and Justiriser, I at least respected that they got people over 21 years of age (although the main guy from Justiriser was younger).

What I think makes a good tokusatsu?

-Good acting (older performers; stage performers).
-Good writing (a planned out plot).
-ACTION (remember when tokusatsu had that?).
-Cool designs.
-Good music is nice (Shinichi Ishihara tunes).
-No card/disc/lame gimmicks/motifs. No Gao Balls, no Karakuri Balls, no new spell each time you empty your bladder and the "magic responds to your courage."
-One mecha. Because mecha sucks, but long mecha battles suck worse.

But, those days are gone, aren't they? Unless I go to Japan and make an indie production, then it will be the best damn tokusatsu in the world. Well, since Agito, anyway.

Kenzaki? Isnt he the main guy in Nexus? the one who first saw him at the end of ep. 1?

Ok, what elements do you guys think should be a KR show?

Who knows...hard to tell...one side bitches...another side preaches...and people in the middle are going...oooooooookay... :confused2

- No bullet time/lessening of bullet time (Stupid bullet time...)
- Humor (Too much drama puts me to sleep...)
- Good music (I love toku music)
- Nice story (As long as it's decent)
- Nice looking mecha (I actually like the mecha...)

Eh...most of the stuff I would let the show plan out itself....

well for my KR fanfilm, which is still in script format right now, and I still don't know if it will get filmed yet, I'm thinking of having 2 or 3 Riders. What do you guys think?

The only things that can make a good toku show are:
Good story
Right selection of actors
Walk on walls (for solo heroes)
and Music by either Akira Kushida, Takayuki Miyauchi or Hironobu Kageyama...

Takayuki Miyauchi or Hironobu Kageyama...

O o o! I almost forgot about Hironobu! He's one of my favorite singers! The song he sung for Dragonball Z 3 was AWESOME. Wish I had a full version though....

I already told you that we should make one!

Yeah we'll get to that. Little did you know I already have a tokusatsu parody script in production.

I say go for it, but keep in mind that it's going to be a looooooot harder than just going "I want to make a Kamen Rider fanfilm." You have to keep in mind the directorial skills, production values, where you're going to get your costumes, who's going to act, who's doing stunts, how you're going to edit, etc. Not to discourage you, but filmmaking just isnt easy.
