Well, that was an interesting phone call

So I just got this odd phone call, I said "Hello?" and I ended up getting a recorded message saying "We're sorry, but that is not a valid response. To speak to a live operative please press 1"

Uh, sorry you guys called me first. I ain't pressing no button to speak with someone, just so you can sell me crap I don't want.

WTF?? That's pretty strange, never had that happen to me before.

It's probably one of those predatory auto-call marketing systems that's targeted at the elderly. 99.5% of the people it calls will hang up, but those that remaining 1/2% of people who stay on the line easily pay for the system.

That's happened to me several times, too. If I was in either a really good or really bad mood when that happened, I would press the button, and when I finally got through to the guy, and do my loudest impression of Howard Dean doing his "YEEEAAARRGH!" scream :laugh:
