watched the whole the series without subs?

I watch quite a lot of stuff RAW now.

I usually keep myself up to date with GekiRanger raw but thats only because I've seen so many subbed.

I watched Jetman raw complete but to be honest I don't remember much of it now. I often watch movies RAW because they are a lot easier to understand!

Tons. In my book, subbed toku is a pretty new phenomenon. I've been watching since the late 80's so raw was the only way really, with exception of the few subs ctenosaur video would put out.
Full series:
Jetman
Dairanger
Gavan
Sharivan
Megaranger
Capt. Ultra

God theres more, sadly i've seen more incomplete series than full. I think the most pathetic thing about this for me is with all the "japanimation" (ancient word for anime for us fogeys) and toku you'd think I could speak the language or something! Nope, barely a word. Sad.:disappoin

My anime collection is mostly HKs, so I'm use to it by now I just tend to make corrections in my mind as I go along. I'd rather deal with crappy subs then having no subs at all

Although Raws are great for getting screencaps without those subs in the way

That's why I prefer raw. I just don't trust subs that much. The only ones I trust are TV-Nihon. However, I'm not going to wait for something to be subbed before I enjoy it.

Haha same here, I only trust TV-nihon's ones, but even then, theres a couple lines that i'm like, hmm they didn't say that. But for the most part, they help out with the replaying a part over and over that I didn't quite catch the first time around. It also adds another layer onto the series, since they put in all these nice effects and change the fonts for different characters, little things like that :D

Its funny though HK subs will get attack names right on, or any other phrases/words that are derived from Chinese, but they'll mess up on the easiest phrases.

I actually have quite a bit of anime with HK subs, but I usually watch it w/o the subs ^^;; I'm the opposite of you, I'd rather go w/o the subs than have crappy subs that just confuse the hell out of me XD

I can guarantee you that EJF has highly accurrate subs too, people around here have seen my skills.
Just wanted to put that one on the table...

Filadelfo for govna!

At least crappy subs will give you SOME understanding of the story.

True, I DO watch HK subs if I'm watching a show with my sis, just cuz she doesn't understand as much jpn as I do. Which is how I know the quality of the subs for these shows. But we also make fun of them, so I guess it adds another level of fun to the show also :D

Yeah man. I've been watching Toku since early '90s. I remember paying about $90 U.S. for VHS tapes of any series I could get my hands on, with **** quality, all raw.

I seriously think it was once Disney destroyed PR in 2003 was when Toku got bigger in this fandom. Well I think it because I've been here since then and watched the Toku community grow bigger and bigger.

Props to Vicnuts.

I know Ultraman Gaia was known as one fo the best Ultra series. Of course while knowing that there weren't subs I watched it anyway.
