Hope it goes through. Granted, Branagh hasn't done anything truly brilliant since his Hamlet in 1996, but if he gets a good script and a good cast, I have no doubts he'd be a great helmsman for the project.

Hell, if he cast himself as Donald Blake, I'd be friggin' ecstatic.

Marvel reaching out for Kenneth is a fresh choice considering how low-key he's been on the directing circuit. Can't help but feel this is only going to gain money if Downey Jr pays Loki a visit in a bar though.:laugh:

I think he's a liiiiiitle old for the roll. I picture somone a bit more young and buff.... then again, if they're going for the Jesus/Thor from the Ultimates... I guess, maybe it would work.

I want a more iconic Thor complete with classic Thor-speak.

I thought Iron Man was a blast and pretty well balanced for the most part but coming off of DK's popularity I guess we're in for hyperdark Serious Business Thor. I mean Christ if Holllywood wants to turn Superman dark Thor doesn't stand a chance. Not that'd I'd want Thor to be a total comedy but come on. :disappoin

If he's playing oldschool Donald Blake who gets transformed entirely (into another actor for Thor), he doesn't have to be buff at all.

Do enough normal people know who Thor is to really warrant giving him his own huge-budget film? Seems like the whole grammatically-stunted Norse god thing is a little harder to swallow for the average viewer than a guy in a robot suit.

I'm sure Thor will have a bit of comedy in it. (It worked for Iron Man, which is still a success!) After all, Marvel is not only not DC, but they're independent (unlike the Warner-dependent DC), so they've got nothing to worry about.
