[CASTING CALLS] Vanguards of Hope (Sentai, Riders, Cures)

Yeah and the more I think about it, the more my mind wants Maine. I mean the population is isolated as ****, the weather conditions just scream "there's something in the fog", and it has an extremely long Native American and columbian history. Not to mention dozens of other cultural influences and a nice "edge of the world" vibe. So yeah...looks like we will be heading to the large, but well hidden town of Cold March.

I'll start working on detail once I am done with other things. Everyone with a Japanese character...well I'm sure you can all find creative ways to get their asses there, right? If you need help with that just let me know and I will help you, help them, get on the plane...both figuratively and literally.

See that little peninsula there between Ellsworth and Belfast? That is where I am going to put her. Right there by that little bay. That or on Mt. Desert Island. Or both...you get the general idea.

I've been busy as hell the past week, and still is. ZZ, I'm afraid I'll be late for my pm on my character.

I'll be making a second ranger PC, but not sure which ranger to use. I know I want a dragon theme, so I guess I'll leave it up to you guys as to which ranger I make this time.

  • DragonRanger (ZyuRanger Green)
  • RyuuRanger (Dairanger Red)
  • Shinken Blue
  • TyrannoRanger (Zyuranger Red - he'll get the Dragon Shield and Zyusouken at a later point in the series)

If there's another dragon ranger I missed, let me know. But for now, let's see who people want to see added.

Change Dragon(Changeman).

Since Shagun wanted to make a Samurai motif Rider, I decided to drop my Shinkenger character to not be redundant on motifs. But since Sentai count is still low, I might pick it back up, or make another Sentai hero.

Late? HA! Your talking to the king of late posts my friend. You are fine, just do what ya can when ya can.

I'm pretty sure that award should go to me. While my profile is technically done I'm way to tired to give it the once over for grammar, spelling, and coherency sooooo I guess I'll post it here tomorrow :P. I should prolly warn ya ziginz my man....Theres alot. Maybe not as much as magi's last profile (but at the same time maybe more?) but still alot.

Solo: Alice is really cool, but if you feel you should revamp her then power to you. I know you will come up with something great.

Thanks. The problem is that a lopsided cast list perpetually bugs me; especially when there's supposed to be a mixture of heroes in a world. It's just a somewhat annoying idiosyncrasy of mine.

That said, I'm starting to get an idea for how to keep the majority of Alice's backstory and revamp it to work in a less grim fashion. So... provided that I can glean enough of an understanding to make this work, you'll probably have two more Cures on your list in a day or so.

Neat on both accounts. Looking forward to it guys. So I suppose we can get this started sometime next week if things keep progressing the way I feel they are. Even after the game starts, you can still post profiles for consideration so don't feel like you have tobe in a hurry.

I've also got my idea for Cold March pretty much down pat and will include details about it in my first post of the game. I want you all to be as surprised as your characters probably will be by what you find when you first arrive, so I don't want to give away too much. Suffice to say, it ain't no Eerie Indiana...

Sounds good.

Okay. Here's the lowdown on the new profiles... I smooshed them together because the history is so entwined. Hopefully, it's not too convoluted.

[HIDE]Name: Alice Copper & Melinda Velden
Age: 17 & 16, respectively
Nationality: U.S. Citizens
Appearance:
`Alice
Alice stands at a modest five-seven. Her hair is perpetually dyed black and kept straight, with large bangs combed down over her forehead. Her eyebrows are always neatly trimmed and, at the end above her temples, sharply pointed, making them look vaguely bat-like. Her features are light and somewhat haggard. She possesses a flat, soft nose and an equally pair of thin lips.

She likes the color black, finding it to be a fitting color to her persona, and she wears it heavily. A black lace collar circles her neck and she wears a black, sleeveless, V-cut top underneath a long-sleeved fish-net blouse. The addition of black opera gloves serves as her arm wear. A black skirt and matching leggings lead into a pair of boots to complete her wardrobe.

`Melinda
Melinda tops out at five-feet, six inches, putting her just an inch shorter than Alice is. Melinda prefers a conservative mode of attire. Melinda wears a light gray tank top beneath a dark blue jacket. She opts for a pair of navy slacks over a dress and simple sneakers. Melinda is rarely seen without a backpack that contains an assortment of books, a tablet and a laptop.

She is a strawberry blond who prefers to keep her hair cut short in a bob cut. Her features a slight and not very well pronounced, leaving Melinda to attempt makeup to, ahem, make up the difference. Her eyes are a soft green and, if you look closely, slightly haunted. Her nose is short and round, as are her cheekbones and lips, rendering her an average sort of girl who won't stand out in a crowd.

Alternate Identity:
` Alice: Cure Dark

Minor Differences: Alice lacks any heterochromia. Her hair is dark brown instead of green. Throw a second wing on there.

`Melinda: Cure Shine

`Upgraded Form: Cure Shine Super Silhouette

History: It's been said that some heroes become great, some heroes are born great, and some heroes have greatness thrust upon them. In the case of Alice and Melinda, it could safely be said that they embody a little bit of all three.

Melinda and Alice first encountered each other in early grade school, and, contrary to all expectations, they didn't hit it off so well. The two became acquaintances and knew of each others existence, but by and by they just left each other alone. It wasn't until the sixth grade, when they were assigned to work together on a joint project, that they really began to talk and get to know one another.

Melinda was quiet and studious-- she was most definitely the brains of the outfit. She was bean counter, always concerned first and foremost with facts and figures and plans. Alice was the creative force in their partnership. She could put a new perspective on things and come up with ideas that were most decidedly out of the box. The two balanced each other nicely, and, perhaps realizing on some level that they brought out the best in each other, became close friends.

This friendship lasted past grade school and into high school. At first, everything seemed to be normal, but... Alice began to notice some strange things going on around the school-- but more importantly, she noticed those oddities spilling over into Melinda. Melinda began to act very nervous and began to close herself off from her old friends. Alice knew that Melinda was having some problems at home and tried to get Melinda to open up about them, but was rebuffed. Several other classmates began to act skittish as well.

Not willing to sit idly by while whatever was wrong with Melinda ate away at her, Alice conducted her own investigation. She began slipping out of the dorms and tailing Melinda during the evening hours. Alice discovered that Melinda was meeting several other students at an abandoned warehouse. Alice quietly infiltrated the warehouse and hid behind a stack of rusted machinery to watch the group's activities. It didn't take much to realize that Melinda had fallen in with a cult.

At first, it was just the usual mumbo-jumbo and shenanigans, talk of being chosen and power and the like. But when the cult leader began to make a point of sacrifice, Alice grew concerned. Apparently, Melinda wanted power and was willing to undergo some kind of magically induced rite to get it. The cultists gathered around a strange summoning circle and began performing some sort of weird ritual. To Alice's horror, one of the cultists led Melinda to the center of the magic circle... and their intentions did not sound noble.

Unable to stay silent any longer, Alice left her hiding place and burst onto the scene, demanding that the ritual stop and that Melinda come back home with her. That proved to be her undoing.

At that precise moment, a strange thing erupted from the summoning circle. Alice, having never accepted the supernatural, was downright stunned at it's appearance. It was no mere parlor trick. She could tell just from the thing's presence that its power far eclipsed hers. However, her appearance had startled the entire group and caused the lead cultist's concentration to break. The group of magicians failed to properly channel and bind the entity, and it began to run wild with destruction.

As the entity began destroying the surrounding area, and cultists began to flee for their lives, Alice pressed on. She wasn't going to leave this place without Melinda and Melinda didn't seem to be leaving this place any time soon. The other girl was steadfast, staring at the beast, and demanding that the contract be upheld and the beast provide her with power.

That got the entity's attention. The entity chortled some reply and flicked a sphere of purple flame at the obstinate girl. Alice reacted on pure instinct. She tackled Melinda, toppling the other girl to the ground, and threw herself bodily over her companion. The flame impacted the small of her back and passed straight through her clothing and skin unhindered and embedded itself in her body. Alice convulsed as a bolt of white-hot agony ripped through her. A scream left her lips.

She could feel her body changing and energy flowing through her. It was though a conduit had opened, and she now had access to channels of power and magic that she'd never known existed. Instinctively, she now knew that she had power-- a power that was corrupt to the core. Immediately, it began to run wild throughout her, threatening to take over and cause untold destruction.

The initial moment of transformation awakened a cold, demanding hunger within her. It was the hunger for destruction and death. Alice cried out, begging Melinda to get out of here before something horrible happened. Melinda, looking more than a bit horrified at what had happened, refused. Melinda could see now that she had been led astray, and now Alice was suffering the punishment meant for Melinda. There was no way that Melinda was going to abandon her friend now.

"Forgive me..." Melinda begged. "... all I wanted... was the power... to get my parents together again... But that... wasn't worth... this..."

In agony and despair, Alice screamed at Melinda to escape, before everything came apart at the seams. It was at that moment that an intervention was staged, a Cosmic Lord appeared before them and bathed the area in a radiating light.

The Cosmic Lord explained that outright removing the curse was not an option. The curse, the dark power, was a part of Alice now. To destroy that dark power would be to destroy Alice as well. But, there was a solution. If they were willing, the Cosmic Lord said, he would alter the curse placed upon Alice and provide a measure of his own power to Melinda. Between the two of them, he felt, they would be able to use the curse's evil power for good. The two would be balanced, yin and yang, and keep the other from straying too far in either direction.

Alice and Melinda agreed. The Cosmic Lord altered Alice's darkness and granted her the gifts of justice, vengeance and strength; to Melinda he presented the gifts of atonement, redemption and hope. Together, they would be a powerful force to be reckoned with. The Cosmic Lord then stepped aside, walked them through their new transformations and aided them in defeating the Writhing Thing.

Ever since, they have continued this task in secret: combating the evils wrought about by the Writhing Things and aiding others in making their own journeys of redemption.

Personality:
`Alice:
Outside of battle, Alice is almost perpetually lost in her own thoughts and needs to apply some dedicated focus to become absorbed with the task at hand. Inside of battle, however, she has to work hard not to become a rampaging berserker. How much this has to do with her powers and the constant gnaw that they have on her, she isn't quite sure.

Alice is a very opinionated person. She's quick to judgment and she sticks by that judgment until she is proven wrong. This causes her some problems from time to time when she jumps the gun and creates a notion based on incorrect or partial data. Thankfully, however she's a decent judge of character so she's not too far off the mark too often.

She is, however, very reserved around others due to how different she is from them. Subconsciously, she does what she can to push others away, fearing what would happen to them if they were were to be caught up in all the crazy of her life-- or in the crossfire of a battle, for she is very, very quick to jump into battles.

Likes:
`Ice Cream, chocolate preferably.
`A regular paycheck, currently she's employed at a local bookstore.
`Figure skating & Olympic sports.

Dislikes:
`People who don't realize how good they've got it.
`Obnoxiously loud music.
`Electronics in general. Have you seen how obsessed people get about their phones?

Relationships:
`Merlinda – Her partner.

Extra: Nothing at the moment. Maybe later.

Present Abilities:
` Thanks to the power given to her by the Writhing Thing, Alice has the ability to seal away evil and then absorb it to increase her own power and abilities. This is very much a Linear Fighter, Quadratic Wizard situation, for while she starts off weaker than Melinda, in the end Alice will be a powerhouse that, unaided, can surpass Melinda's Super Mode.
` As an aside to the above, it is important to note that while Alice can seal and absorb evil, she cannot remove evil from a creature. Should she attempt to seal evil away while it is still involved with a host, she would most likely kill the host outright.

`As a Cure, Alice has access to magic, this can manifest itself in number of different ways: energy shields, generic blasting powers and the like.

`When in Cure form, Alice possesses super strength and speed.

Personality:
`Melinda
Melinda is the more studious of the two. She dedicates herself to the task at hand rather thoroughly and does her best to follow through on her projects. She tries to keep herself busy on purpose because the work makes it harder for her to reflect on the past or their respective situations. When her mind is occupied, it allows Melinda to feel better about things.

She is very much an understanding people person. Melinda is very outgoing and cheerful, although it's hard to tell just how much of that is an act and how much of it is genuine. Melinda is trying hard to move past the trauma of that night and to forgive herself for what happened, but it's slow going.

In sharp contrast with her friend, Melinda tries to be more understanding of who people are and why they do what they do. She understands all too well what despair can do to a person and how quickly a person can find themselves performing acts that they never thought possible.

Likes:
`Electronics and gadgets.
`Non-Fiction Books and Magazines
`Balanced diets

Dislikes:
`Fish – She never liked the taste
`Vampire movies
`Engrish, leet speak and other forms of slang

Relationships:
Alice – Her partner

Extra: Nothing at the moment

Present Abilities:
` One of the gifts given to her by the Cosmic Lord is the ability to expel unwanted or implanted evil from an individual. This does not destroy the evil outright as Alice possesses that ability.

`As a Cure, Melinda has access to magic, this can manifest itself in number of different ways: energy shields, generic blasting powers and the like.

`When in Cure form, Melinda possesses super strength and speed.

Double character combo post approved!

I was a bit worried when you said you wanted to revamp Alice...I'm not worried anymore. Now I am happy you did it. You went back to the tried and true cure duo formula and made it into something that fits the RP well. While Alice won't be fighting for quite the same reasons as before, I am happy she doesn't have to live with the guilt of killing her best friend. Melinda is also a very nice character that has her own brand of troubles to deal with. She may not have killed somebody close to her, but she does have to cope with putting her closest friend on the fine line between light and darkness. She has to be her sister's keeper, so to speak, but this could be said for Alice as well. Melinda has nearly lost herself to the darkness before, so how easy would it be for her to slip too far into the choking stability of perfect order? Probably as easy as it would be for Alice to become a chaotic beast with corrupt definitions of justice and vengence.

Looking forward to seeing them in action.

So that brings us to nine characters.
4 Riders
4 Cures
1 Ranger

Extraordinary. I really didn't expect this level of response. I'm almost tempted to say "Three more rangers or bust!" but I won't. That would be unfair to those that have riders and cures still in the creation process. Still, more then twelve characters might be too many. Hmmm let's go as far as 15 shall we. Some of you might have to take care of yourselves from time to time, but I'll make sure you all play your parts in the greater scheme of things. So rider, rangers, and cures are all still welcomed...at least for six more characters...after that we will have to see where things go. Savvy?

:redface2: Pardon the mess. It's the amalgamation of at least 3 failed attempts at creating a coherent backstory. It's only in hindsight that I realize I tried to compress to many elements into one character.

Name: Eugene "Gin" Kennedy
Age: 33
Nationality: American
Appearance: [hide]
champloomugen0309.jpg
[/hide]
Alternate Identity: Kamen Rider Faiz
History: Being a private detective seems like an exciting job. And to be fair it can be. However, more often than not it's either tiring or depressing. For Eugene "Gin" Kennedy it was more depressing than anything else. It wasn't especially hard or strenuous work. Nor was his turn around lacking. He pulled in adequet funds at a steady, almost consistant rate. An impressive feat for what amounted to freelance work. Gin really only had one probelm with his work. He'd been pigeon holed into one kinda of job. Tailing potential cheaters and adulterers. A job made easlier and even more boring with the invention of voice recorders and camera phones. But it wasn't just the minotony o fhis work that ate at him. His job was essentially to taddle. Even if most of his targets deserved to be outed for the pain they cused it didn't make him feel good to do it.

5 years ago he at least had his then wife and current landlord Natalie to keep him company. Perhaps ironic considering she pushed him into specializing in that line of work to begin with. Natalie did everything she could to move Gin to the safer aspects of his work. Going as far as to gear all his office ads toward outing cheaters. Things only got worse for Gin the night he came home from work with a black eye and swollen knuckles. Avoiding risky behavior went from a request to an ultimatum.

Also ironic that even while working exclusively in that line of work he couldn't predict being on the **** end of an affair 3 year later. Gin wasn't sure how or why it happend. He'd somehow missed all the signs he'd list off to his clients and strangley brushed off unusual changes in natalies behavior. What fallowed was a messy divorce that somehow left him with a sizable debt to his bitter ex wife. As time passed she moved on, Married, and had the child Gin had always dreamed of having with her. Her ownership of the building which housed his agency's office kept the two in semi regular and often akward contact.

In spite of all this Gin stuck to the tried and tested routine. Even if it felt hallow without her Gin continued on the way he'd always had. It wasn't until What would ultimately be Gin's final case that his life would change.

Paranoia, irritability, emotional distance. If a checklist for suspected infedelity existed then the subject of Gin's last official client would have checked every box. The client's girlfriend of 8 months was spending more and more time away from their appartment and didn't answer his phone calls. It sounded like a paint by numbers investigation, But a jobs a job and rent was due. He'd take the case, and his time completing it. $80.00 a day plus expenses didn't go as far as it should. Especially for Gin. Debt compunded upon rent left little room for anything beyond the bare essentials. Plus expenses meant being able to eat something besides ramen, popcorn, or instant mac&cheese. Plus expenses meant Driving his own vehicles in lue of smelly busses and hobo crowded rail cars. Plus expenses meant a small window of time where he could at least feel like he was living a **** life.

Right off the bat the investigation was unusual. The target was unusually jumpy and distressed. this made tailing her difficult to say the least. She always seemed to be looking over her shoulder like she knew she was being fallowed. Just when Gin thought he was losing his touch the woman took off runing down an alleyway. Gin noticed another person give chase a few feet ahead of him. He fallowed the woman's peruser into the alleyway and was shocked by what he saw. The woman he'd been tracking lie motionless on the ground. Standing over her was not the man who'd chased her prior but a Grey giant. A monsterous figure with souless eyes and large claws for hands. It turned to face gin and pointed onminously at the unlucky investagator. At the same time it's shadow seemed to take a life all it's on and snaked along the ground, traveling up the wall and then metamophisized from the monster's sillouette into a projection of the man he'd seen chasing the woman.

"Bad timing mister"

Said the shadow as the monster waged it's clawed finger in time with its words. The projection along the wall moved paralell to the monster as it stepped slowly towards the utterly horrorified and dumbfounded Gin. The shadow laughed as the monster stood over Gin, Raising a clawed hand overhead to strike a killing blow.

"STOP!"

There stood the thought dead woman. The monster turned toward her and it's shadow smiled.

"Oh. So yer one of us now princess?

Almost in response to his words the woman reached out toward the end of the alleyway. Her entire body trebling as her legs gave way. She fell to the ground hard, spraying what looked like a cloud of sand and ash from underneath.

"Run"

She called out weakly to Gin. Her entire body turned sheet white and her pupils dissapeared. Her entire body began to dry out to the point of desolving until all that was left of her was a pile of sandy ash.

"Oh well" The shadow said as the monster shrugged it's shoulders. It turned back towards it's target only to find nothing there.

Gin barreled down the streets with wreckless abandon. A primal fear propelled him forward with only the most animal of survival instincts drowning out anthing which resembled coherent thought.

It wasn't until he'd made it back to the office that his brain returned to something resembling working order. He packed a bag and made a run to his client's home. Gin needed answers. As many as he could get if he wanted any hope of setting his mind at ease. When Gin arrived at the client's apartment he bombarded the man with questions regarding his girlfriend. Eventually the term Smart Brain came up. Gin then recounted what had occured regarding the client's girlfriend and advised him to seek police assistance. Unfortunately in his slightly crazed state Gin didn't realize he'd been fallowed and mere minutes after he left the grey monster appeared.

A lengthy and complicated trip around the internet revealed what smart brain was and the woman's connection to it. Smart brain was a now defunct company on the west coast and she was a former employee of it's Main office in Maine. It didn't answer many questions but it was a start and a means for distancing himself from family and friends. If that monster was now after him the same way t was after the woman then he needed to be somewhere far away. For their sake as well as his own.

He booked a flight out immediately. Completely unaware that the police had gotten invovled in the mess before he'd left.

4 Days later.

The cold night air brushed sharply agianst Gin as the Rental bike hummed beneath him. It was his third night in in Maine and he still hadn't completely adjusted to the cold.. The packed streets seemed to thin out the closer he got to his destination. The abandoned building which once housed the smart brain corperation. The steel fence and boarded up doors did little to stop Gin. He made his way into the building and searched For nearly an hour. Eventually he came to a locked door. Unusual in that it was an functioning electronic lock in a Abandoned building. Not to be detured Gin took an extremely direct approuch and applied a fire axe to it henges. He broke through the door and found what looked like the inner workings of an alien labratory. He stooed puzzled by the mysterious chemicals sitting in various beekers and viles. A cold chill ran down his spine as he stepped further into the lab. He had a bad feeling about going further but needed answers if he wanted even a the faintest of hope of ending the nightmares and constant paranoia.

He opened another door which lead to a large flight of stairs. Gin crept down them and through a series of rooms until he stumbled upon four individuals in surgeon's scrubs standing over a large steel table. They all appeared to be working on something. Poking and proding at it in way that gave little indication of what it was. Only when a low inhuman moan rose from the metal surface did Gin realize that the 4 were operating on a live subject. The group jumped back suddently as large flash of light rose up from the table fallowed by a fleshy grey hand which swung out at them. Startled, Gin fell backward, accidently giving himself away to the group. The few seconds it took for each of them to turn towards him was all it took for the creature to free itself from whatever bound in to the table. Gin caught sight of it briefly as he turned and ran for the exit. It was diffrent but not unlike the monster he'd encountered in the alley days before. Gin ran and ran as hard as he could, the rapid thumping of his heart and the sound of his feet pounding against the ground did little to drown out the screams of the would be surgeons. Darting up the stairs Gin Closed and locked the door behind him but as he moved through the "alien lab" something caught his foot causing him to fall hard face first. Gin attempted to shake it off an started to push himself up to his feet.

GRAH!!!

A low Moan stopped Gin dead in his tracks. His eyes darted in every dierection in seach of what produced the sound As crawled as quielty as he could towards the lab's exit. Suddenly an inhuman growl erupted from behind Gin as pair of pale hands reached out and gripped onto his shoulders. Gin instictively knocked the arms away and turned to face the attacker. What stood before him was a sheet white man with no pupils and a bizarre contraption practically fused to his waist. It began emiting a bright red light which seemed to literally consume the man as it brew brighter. Gin's eyes reflexively shut as the sound of siziling flesh flooded his ears. He blacked out seconds later.

He blicked once and imediately shut his eyes and as the blinding light directly overhead assaulted him. He turned his head to the side and attempted to open his eyes agian. The pointed edge of sharpend steal appeared suddenly before his eye and and everything on his left side whent dark. Gin flailed violently agianst restraints which held his limbs in place. As he turned his head away from another sharped shard of metal in a pair of hands covered in blue latex pressed it down into the metal surface beneath him. Gin opened his mouth to scream but nothing came out. He tried and tried till his throat began to hurt but still no sound would come out. even as the sarpend metal pierced his right eye and all went dark, no sound came from Gin mouth. The only noice produced was the thrashing of his body agianst the restraints as the blue hands and steel shards poked, prodded, and tore into his body.

Gin awoke suddently with swaths of blood and sandy ash covering his body. He blinked rappidly then waved his hands in front of his face. He could see. Clearly and with no signs of damage to his eyes. He lefted up his shirt in search of scaring or marks but found nothing. He was dizzy and nautious but curiously unharmed. He paused a moment to take in is surroundings and surmised he was still in the smart brain building but an unfamiliar room.

"go Go GO!"

The sound was disturbing. Hushed yet booming reverberating through the air as if the words had a life of their own. Gin jumped to his feet, eyes darting franticly about the room in search of whatever caused the noise so he knew where to run to escape it.

"go Go GO!"

It echoed throughtout the entire building at the same volume no matter where he ran too. At this point Gin deduced the safest place he could be was as far away from the building as humanly possible. he raced towards the exit to find, written in bright thick crimson across the floor.

go Go GO!

Horror gripped Gin and rose from the bit of his stomach through his lungs and out though his mouth as a blood curdling scream. His entire body trembled. His knees gave way to fear and he feel to the ground too frightend to move untill and deep laugher sung out behind him. Gin turned slowly to find a Tall, thin man in an immaculately white suit. So much so that it seemed to shine under the light of the full moon. He held an eqully shiny white hat in front of his face obscuring most of it from view. Though, even with the hat in front of him it was easy to picture the chashire grin worn by the man in white. The creases in his face produced by the smile where appearant. Gin was so entranced by unusual man's deminor and attire that he didn't notice The small steel briefcase at the man's feet. It wasn't untill he kicked it over to him that Gin took notice. He looked down at the case, eyeing the smart brain logo on the front of it. He looked up to question the unusual man but found no one there.

Personality: Grouchy, well meaning, and somewhat wild is how most would describe Gin. Falling between the cracks of a nice guy and a bad boy makes him a little heard to place for those who aren't already close to him. He's frequenly on the bad end of the first impressions when he isn't on the clock. Due mostly to his rough and direct manner of speach. He's espcially uneasy due to the special slice of hell his last official case is putting him through. As it drags on he finds himself becoming more and more distant. Wanting desperately to reach out to family and friends in these distressing times but unable to do so without putting their lives at risk.

Likes: Alcohol, Fast vehicles, Children and babies (they're funny), Video games (racing games in particular), Combat sports (live events in particular)

Dislikes: His ex wife's husband, Public transportation, Ramen noodles (he's beyond sick of them), Smart brain and nearly everything associated with it.

Relationships:

Natalie: Gin's landlord and Ex-wife. She frequently hounds him for money owed but has a somewhat amiable relationship with him outside of that. Her current husband is perpetually suspicious of Gin and often uses money owed s a means to provoke him.

The monster with the talking shadow: An Orphanoc with a penchant for maliciously stalking chosen prey. He hunts down people related to smart brain for unknown reasons and goes out of his way to kill anyone who knows of his existance. He's out to get Gin and anyone he shares information with.

The Smart brain suergens: It is unknown if any of them survived the events at smart brain HQ. Should any of them still live then it is perhaps save to asume that they are continuing their inhuman experiments and any and all subjects they can get their hands on. Gin is still haunted by what he hopes to be mearly a nightmare of them tearing into him with makeshift scalpels.

The man in white: A surrell human being in an emaculately white suit. He seems to delight in the terror of others and smiles in a way which is impossible for more human faces. It is unknown to all but him why he gave Gin the Faiz gear. But for that reason alone Gin believes he is intrinsicly tied to the events at smart brain HQ and the actions of the monster with the talking shadow.

Extra: Being an avid street racer years back Gin is a skilled driver on bother 2 wheeled and 4 wheeled vehicles. He own a heavily modified sport bike and car tuned for drifting. He is wanted for questioning regarding the dissapearance of his last client and the client's girlfriend and as such has to be careful police until he can find a means proving his innocence.
