TV-Nihon's problem about Kabuto DD/YouTube

So was that comment (that is now taken off TV-N's page) aimed at someone here?

I can kind of understand their rant on this one. For someone to take their work and not only re-encode it but also change the name and then upload it to YouTube w/o giving any kind of credit what-so-ever isn't really low. But it makes it look like that person did all the work of sub'ing the episode themself.

Besides, it's not like it's impossible to get the episodes...so is uploading it onto YouTube really necessary?

The biggest isssue is quality and accessibility. That's why we wish instead of trying to offer things to people as direct downloads and such (Which never last. There's no such thing as "unlimited bandwidth) that people are directed to our website where they can use our Bit Torrents and IRC channels. The less multiple different places to obtain the episodes the more bountiful the ability to get them will be.

Yeah. Direct Downloading is great... while it lasts. People can only really obtain it by either paying for it or stealing it (hacked ftps etc) and while the legality of fansubbing can be debated into the ground none of us want to be involved with "r00ting" and all that digital breaking and entering crap.

Anyway... Yeah. It sucks when people contact us and say "I downloaded your episodes from this site and they didn't work" or "It was slow" or my most hated "I used to download from a website and now it's gone. When will it be back up?"

So in the end it's hurting us and it hurts the people trying to download shows. Instead of that person seeding a torrent they're just ungratuitously downloading from some website and not seeding.

It's even worse when people re-encode our work because then people are turned off. "Oh, this quality sucks. I think I'll go buy these bootlegs."

And to answer someone else's question... I think the comment was aimed at RangerBoard. I don't really feel that place is a fan forum but more of a festering cesspool forum.

So, in closing... If you really want to help people get files then seed some torrents. It's the quickest and most effective way to make sure everyone gets to enjoy the love of tokusatsu and anime.
 
I don't get Tv-Nihon, I mean they do stuff for free but yet, god forbid anyone use there stuff. If they have a problem with people using the subs maybe they should fucking write a thing saying you cant.

Haha, it wouldn't be a TVNihon post without a dig at another board :thumbs:. Fair enough about the DDs though.

I think it's more of something going wrong, like the examples Cyberdramon listed, then expecting tvnihon to fix it when they had nothing to do with it to begin with. Although stealing somebody else's work is pretty bad too

The only best thing you can do is to GIVE THEM A CREDIT

It's covered in rule #5 of our serving rules. I could be clearer so I'll remember to do that when I'm updating the website later.
