Turboranger vs. Carranger - Which was better?

Both shows are awesome and Goonger's mediocrity makes me wonder a lot if it can really be considered to be an homage to two of the best sentai series of all time in Turboranger and Carranger. However, you can consider Goonger to be an homage to another weak sentai with very weak villains, Liveman.

I voted for Turboranger in this thread simply because it is better than Carranger in terms of storylines, seriousness, and the strengths of its heroes. In addition, Turboranger had Yosei Power (Fairy Power) which gave them so much strength, courage, and moral support, whereas Carranger only had Carmagic and White Racer's nice teeth. The villains in Turboranger are also strong, cool and badass at that. We musn't also forget that Turboranger had the 2nd strongest Red Warrior (after Magi Red of Magiranger) in Super Sentai history in Red Turbo (Honoo Riki) and the 2nd greatest duo/pair of villains (after Rinjuken Akugata's Kurojishi Rio-sama and Mere-chan of Gekiranger) in Nagare Boma Yamimaru and Nagare Boma Kirika.:thumbs:

One is a straight foward sentai show the other is like The Tick for Super Sentai. It's sentai poking fun at itself. Outside of cars I don't think they really have anything else in common so comparing them is kinda pointless.

I'm really not sure the TurboRanger is better because it's serious arguement works simply because seriousness was never CarRanger's intention to begin with and it is extremely self evident from episode 1.

Which is something I can respect because wether you like the idea of sentai doing a parody of itself or not at least with CarRanger the tone tends to be consistent overall and by virtue of that it is being honest with the audience. That's not to say you can't mix things up a little in sentai. Like having humor in a show that's more straightfaced most of the time but a series still needs to establish a tonal identity for itself and more often than not stick with that. Otherwise I think you're jerking the viewer around and making your story a total mess.

I pick both since they're both car-based along with Go-Onger (all three of them are cool!) although I haven't seen CarRanger yet but I did catch the TurboRanger finale yesterday (which was not aired in the Philippines) and I'm glad the mechs didn't get destroyed (unlike other sentai which their sentai mechs was destroyed) so I did liked TurboRanger! but still, my pick goes to both.
