Toonami: Naruto -Talkback (NO FANSUB SPOILERS!!!)

*Throws hat onto the ground* Ok, tonights episode truly did it for me. I refuse to watch anymore of this series dubbed because of 1 thing: Thousand years of death?!? Honestly, can I please get a WTF Flag here on this. Last I checked, Naruto didn't even die from the move. They should've just left it at "Thousand Years of Pain"... :nono: :nono: :nono:

I getting tired of Naruto constantly saying "Believe it." every other word. That and them going between "destroy" and "kill". Other than that it's still pretty damn enjoyable, but damn...... :shakefist

Doesn't he always say something like that at the end of almost every sentance in the original(Dattebayo)?

Kids, kids.... your world has been destoryed because Kakashi said "death" instead of "pain?"

Pleeeaaase.... :169:

Personally, for me it seems the Naruto voice actor is getting closer and closer to nailing the voice and finding more emotion in each of the lines. Kakashi seems to have it down.. not perfect, but damn close for a first try and can only get better.

As oppose to many other dubbings and broadcastings they kept Kakashi jamming his fingers up Naruto's butt... and you're fretting over "death" and "pain" destroying continuity?

Like the one recording said, I think some fans were set, before the dub was even done, to hate it and are looking for any reason whatsoever to find to flip out and that there aren't many or any important ones, when you do find a minute gem, it gets blown out of proportion.

Am I wrong?

I can understand preferring the sub over the dub. I mean, I don't care how good people say the Cowboy Bebop dub is, I prefer the sub. The Japanese voices will always be the best for me. FLCL.... dub all the way. I get so much more out of the dub performances for FLCL than I did the sub.

I'm just yammerin'.

I still say that Naruto's getting one of the greatest treatments in anime history, especially for it to be airing on Toonami. In a world of Rave Masters, Yu Gi Ohs, and poor, poor One Pieces.... my hat's off to Naruto.

I do wish they'd stick to kill more than destroy, but I've a feeling that with all the mad amounts of violence the are getting away with, without editting it, I don't think they want to push their luck.

As for "believe it", I like it. I was wondering what they'd use in the stead of "dattebayo", and "believe it" falls in line with Naruto's character and central drive. He wants to achieve his dreams and wants everyone to believe it by never giving up.

It gets my seal of approval... believe it. ;)

Not sure, I've never seen the original. It's still rather annoying after every sentence though.

*shrugs*

I see it as his own psychological quirk/glitch in his mad efforts to over compensate in order to be accepted, so it's cool by me. An imperfection in line with his personality.

A lot of characters do that. Not just in this anime.

Here are some examples:
"Na no ne"
"Nyan"
"Nanda na"
"Zutto"
"Joudan"

Some of the top of my head. It goes away in my head after a while though. Most of those don't translate that well into English any how.
