I'm a teen at age 16 and I can't agree with you more. But it still depends on where you live because as a previous poster once commented, Australians for example are very helpful.

Because in today's "society," most of what you see concerning any demographic is coming from a media less concerned with telling you the truth and more concerned with getting you to look at whatever. So you see a small, overrepresented sample of people because bad news sells.
