Things about Toku shows that you simply can't forgive

Toku shows are great, no doubt about it. However, it comes a time where something about a certain Toku will make your blood boil.

Right now, I really can't forgive the fact that Go-Busters was allowed to become a ratings/sales failure.

How about you?

Kamen Rider Decade, period. Decade pretty much ruined the way Tokusatsu looks at things. I'm sick of the nostalgia, I'm sick of the desperation to tie everything together, and I'm sick of the fact that Tokusatsu is becoming the Buu Saga: Every new character is the most powerful ever, so watch all of your favorite characters look absolutely useless so these bland ones can be amazing in every single way. I blame Decade, which took a neat idea of using past Riders and formed it into a crutch. Then Ultraman decided to make their own Decade (Zero), and Sentai (Marvelous).

Edit: I know someone will try and argue this, but Stronger and Black RX did indeed give respect to the previous Riders, because though the new Rider was more powerful, they were still properly integrated without taking over or looking pathetic.

"Allowed" to become a ratings/sales failure? They can't force people to watch it or buy the toys!

I have a hundred and one, but my biggest is that Kiva got rid of the lovely Saga suit so Taiga could become Dark Kiva. It's a silly thing really but it makes me irrationally angry.

It was absolutely un-necessary..........Toei just wanted to have them end the season off with a Kiva vs. Dark Kiva bout for their own personal pleasure.

Rationally, they could've let it be shown in the plot that the Dark Kiva suit would just be passed down and evolved into the modern Kiva suit that was used in the present time.........and just let it be Saga vs. Kiva Emperor form like most of us thought it would've ended up as.

****, the whole "Dark Kiva suit goes to Taiga" scenario basically created another big question mark about what the **** does Taiga's Fangire form truly look like?

To this day, we're still speculating what the **** Taiga looks like in his Fangire form AND the show is over

Yeah I don't know how Go-Busters' failure as a series could have been prevented. So I'm just upset that it was. Go-Busters is IMHO the best Sentai Toei has produced in years and yet no one watched it. And because no one watched it became a ratings disasters so that those of us who were watching it and loving it had to contend with everyone else trying to play script doctor and figure out what wrong with the show, which they couldn't, because there isn't anything wrong with it. People just neglected it, that's all.

Kyoryu's ratings are low too, but there's some evidence that older Japanese fans didn't like Go-Busters, and Toei did try a lot of things to improve its fortunes. They don't want a show to do badly. I just don't think it can be helped.

A lot of the things other people like about Go-Busters are the things I didn't. I think there was too much melodrama (a problem I generally have with Kobayashi's writing) and it tried way too hard to be "serious" and "different", especially at the beginning. I do like it that it toned down some of those elements after a while - for instance, Ryuuji's overheating being played for comedy, and Kuroki becoming more laid-back and dropping the angle that he was just waiting to throw the heroes under the bus. For me, nothing about the show is really "unforgivable" it's just one of those sad notes on the franchise's sheet

What happened to Ohranger is... not exactly unforgivable, I guess, but it really breaks my heart.

This.

This. I love xinfinity Saga's suit.

and that. I don't like the Legend Wars movies. I feel they are overdone and a huge waste of money.

^ Do you mean the Super Hero Taisen movies? The last one didn't do well, so I hope they won't be around as long as the Den-O movies, which they're intended to replace
