Here's some news on the cast... and it don't sound like good news.

The lead unlikely teen hero.......... "Sam?"

No Spike Witwickey? Hmmmmm.... :eyebrow:

I've had a feeling from the beginning this would suck. Transformers is as special and weird as Power Rangers. You gotta be special to get it and I just don't see it translating right to a big audience.

I mean, c'mon... the couldn't even have Sam be Spike? Is it that hard to change a couple letters?

Have I mentioned not having Peter Cullen and Frank Welker as Optimus and Megatron in this would majorly suck?

Well the recent "Infiltration" story from IDW does'nt use Spike at all, and they have the rights to publish the old school Marvel G1 tales. It's how the characters are handled that make the humans work in these storylines.

Of course Furman should've been the one writing this script, he IS Transformers litriture

Well, I'm not sure about Frank Welker, but Peter Cullen's voice's only improved with age.

Peter Cuellen is as kickass as he's ever been, that's for sure.

After reading that report... there just might be hope for this movie.

Shia Lebouf as the teen hero. My verdict: I will see this once, to see how badly they treat my childhood. That is four times less than I will see Snakes on a Plane.

Im still convinced this movie will suck based on the description of main characters alone. I so see this becoming a Godzilla BS fest.

(I liked Godzilla 99 movie but the truth is it wasnt that great. It was about the humans more than Godzilla him/herself.)

Why do people expect this to be the exact same thing as G1? If you want that, go watch the old cartoons. Shia Lebouf is an okay actor and usually plays likeable characters.

Yeah, there stuck in the artic from the beggining rather than an active Volcano in North America. The artic was the setting for the first Dreamwave arc (even if that was set after the original series).

I'm not that worried about the reallistic alterations, I loved G1 Megatron and his gun form, but Marvel were the ones behind the only good story involving his form (IDW have republished it, buy it.), the tank mode (War Within version I hope) is much more befitting to a fair fight.
