I personally enjoy Wizard more than Fourze. However, it's quality severely dropped after White Wizard teleported away with Mayu after she survived going into despair. It started to get better once Haruto reunited with his old friend that played soccer with him. But with the most obvious plot twist ever known to televised entertainment, and the most lackluster series finale I've ever seen, it didn't make things much better.
Fourze is currently my least favorite Kamen Rider series. The only characters I liked were Gentaro and Ryusei. But even then, Gentaro had ZERO development or interesting story arc. All we know about him is that his parents died in a car accident, he met Yuki when he was young, for some reason he decided he wants to be friends with everybody, and he's a Kamen Rider. You'd think they could, I don't know, EXPLAIN his personality?! Or make his parents' death more important other than "just because"? I guess you can say the death of his parents made him lonely, so that's why he wants to be everybody's friend. That's pretty simple and would make sense, but nowhere in the series, from what I remember, establishes this. Or maybe they could have made Gen's parents somehow connected to the Chairman, and that he was the one who killed them, making it harder for Gen to forgive the Chairman in the final episode. Little and simple things like that would make things so much better.
Not to mention that they probably didn't have enough time to focus on him because they have another 7 main characters and victims/monsters of the week to give focus on. There where way too many characters in this show. I remember most of them only having a few lines of dialogue, if any, in certain episodes. Plus, they were all pointless. It doesn't help that the only plot was Meteor's arc for a large number of episodes. Once it ended with Cosmic States debut, they realized that they forgot about the 10 other Horrorscopes they have to deal with, making the last quarter of the series feel rushed as all hell, because they were taking there sweet ass time with the other 3 quarters. It also doesn't help that the Chairman is one of the dumbest villains ever. "hurrrr instead of collaborating with all of the smartest astronomers and scientists in the world, let me blow up Tokyo because the writers are making a last ditch effort to make me more menacing huuuurrrr derp lolololol i'm good now because friendship derp"
Also, Cosmic states is run on the "power of friendship." I know that Kamen Rider is a kids show and that it doesn't need to be dark and serious to be good (even though the riders who happen to be more serious are often better), but that is taking it too far. I can accept mysterious ancient power, high tech suits, magic, some dude in a trench coat that lives in mirrors, a belt made in medieval Europe singing in fluent Japanese, monsters created from someone being sad enough, people who become monsters with USBs or a stone in their waist, the origins of man being linked to battling gods and a monster version of battle royal, guys who travel through time with trains or the simple fact that they're moving so fast, an almost invincible form spawning from a teardrop, and freaking cyborgs that look like grass hoppers fighting rubber suited monsters while riding motorcycles! But friendship literally being a source of energy is crossing a line.
I also think that OOO Wonderful is the worst Heisei rider movie, period. Yes, even below Core, Kiva's movie (Hell's castle or something right?), and The Next (which I can actually sorta enjoy)
I also enjoyed watching Faiz, Kabuto, and Kiva.
I was also extremely skeptical about Gaim, but after reading all those interviews, I can't wait. I still don't like the fruits and dance group things though.
Goddammit Bandai.....
