Yep. Loved the original and I hope this will be somewhat on par with it. But I'm not holding my breath on that. Also, the dog scene was one of my favorites from the original.

Fun fact: Dialogue from the Norwegians at the start of The Thing spoils the premise of the whole movie for anyone who knows the language :laugh:

Yeah its a prequel. Its crazy they're just now talking about this, there was a panel at NYCC last year for it. They had the trailer and everything

its not a remake, it's a prequel that shows the Norwegians discovering the alien and what happened.

Im not impressed by the trailers so far. I feel likes its going to be too many cheap scares, crappy CGI monsters (and no kewl suit ****), and of course the girl as the be front and center. My god we cant go one "thriller" movie anymore without the young little bimbo going "GASP!! OH NOES!!!"

I agree with this in every way. The cool thing about Carpenters The Thing was the use of puppets and and real suits used. I am not against CGI, but they will over use it in this. I also don't care about a prequel. We know what happens to the Norwegians. They all die, the end. They should pick up right where the first movie ended. But then... I think that would also suck.
