SUMMARY: You may be my big brother who raised me like a father, and you might be a competent detective who can solve violent crimes. But you can’t control who I fall in love with. ♦ That Guy Makes My Heart Race. But Why? In “The Smile Has Left Your Eyes”, Yoo Jin-Kook has never been married, yet he raised his younger sister, Yoo Jin-Kang. He is an awesome combination of big brother/dad, although he’s more like an overprotective dad than a concerned big brother. He works as a detective on the police force but he’s thinking about quitting his job. At least, that’s what he was thinking until … a young female university student was murdered. It was supposed to be a suicide – an easy open-and-shut case. But he started picking up on clues and bits and pieces of evidence that made him think […]

I recently finished The Smile Has Left Your Eyes, and I honestly couldn't stop thinking about it for days! The mix of mystery, suspense, and the complex relationships between the characters was just so intriguing. Yoo Jin-Kook’s protective big brother role felt so genuine, and I could really relate to his need to protect his sister. I also loved Seo In-Guk’s performance as Kim Moo-Young—his character was so mysterious yet lovable, which kept me guessing the entire time. The drama's slow build made every reveal feel earned, and I was on the edge of my seat by the final episodes. It was a little heart-wrenching at times, but in a good way. It had the perfect blend of thriller and romance, and the pacing was just right. Definitely recommend it if you enjoy psychological thrillers with a deep emotional core!

My opinion about this show? I thought it was super predictable and kind of boring at times. The whole “mysterious guy might be a murderer” thing felt like something we’ve seen a million times.

I have been watching Korean dramas for years, and I must say, The Smile Has Left Your Eyes is one of the most beautifully crafted shows I’ve seen. The emotional depth of the characters, particularly Yoo Jin-Kook and his sister, was something I truly connected with. Their bond felt very real, and I found myself rooting for them from the start. Seo In-Guk as Kim Moo-Young was brilliant—he has this quiet intensity that really made me question his true nature throughout the series. The suspense was just enough to keep me interested without being overwhelming. The ending left me satisfied, and I’d highly recommend this one to anyone who enjoys a thoughtful, character-driven story.

I was completely hooked from the first episode! The Smile Has Left Your Eyes is the kind of show that keeps you on your toes. The way they slowly reveal information about Kim Moo-Young’s character had me questioning everything. Seo In-Guk was perfect in the role—he’s so charming but there’s this darkness about him that made me second-guess everything. The dynamic between the characters was super interesting, and the whole mystery surrounding the murder kept me guessing. The ending was pretty satisfying too. Highly recommend for anyone who loves a good psychological thriller with a bit of romance thrown in

This series is very good, isn't it? Kdramas are being released faster than you can say “What's next?” because streaming platforms are fighting for their share of the market. Fortunately, for addicts like me, they have also been adding lots of old series and movies to their database. I'm glad I scour the selections available and find gems like this one.

The first episode definitely got my attention. But like I said, it made me anxious. For me, this series can't be binged-watched in one sitting. I had to stop and take breathers to control my anxiety. Also, I couldn't watch at night before I went to bad. LOL.
