The return of classic Nickelodeon?

Thing is...besides Rugrats & Doug, none of those shows really are "classic" Nickelodeon.

For a classic nick you'd need shows such as Double Dare, Family Double Dare, You Can't Do That On Television, Mr. Wizard's World, & Ren & Stimpy.

Those are the shows that started the network. That would be the "classic nick." Now granted, this makes me sound like the grumpy old man, but it'd be the same thing as if someone said a band like Metallica is going back to their "classic" work from the Black Album.

Ren & Stimpyis still on tv, yes on the Nicktoon Channel like 2 or 3 or 4 am est time

so they're gonna stick with the live action formula are they?

*sigh* oh Nick...You were once so mighty, what happen?

Did you really think they would give up their precious Spongebob? That is their biggest ratings life support. Ditto iCarly, for as long as Miranda Cosgrove is on the show.

Nickelodeon is in really crappy shape right now, especially because of the economy. So I wouldn't look forward to them reviving classic shows. To them, they are over, done. They especially milked all they could out of Rugrats (their biggest player up to the late 90s). And they don't seem to accept any more new shows, unless they're by their old tried-and-true talent (including Butch Hartman). They've been really conservative lately. The ironic thing is, while Nick gets the highest ratings, CN and Disney get new shows (and some of them are actually really good!).

I gave up on Nickelodeon completely after The Mighty B! got canceled. I only watch Nicktoons Network, which I consider Nick's nostalgic graveyard for their older/canceled cartoons (including my other favorite, Ren & Stimpy).

Spongebob is still hilarious and sometimes has bursts of really clever humor like "It was nice knowing you pal" "I know I'm an interesting guy". Thats the only part of the article I disagree with.

IMO there's a lot of stuff I like and dislike about the direction Nick is heading in. Yeah Big Time Rush and Victorious are stupid but we have Dragonball Kai, Power Rangers Samurai, and eventually a new Avatar series. I just hope the latter three are getting good ratings/will get good ratings so Nick will head in that direction instead of "Unfunny teens become small time pop idols" shows.

Considering that the source is 'El Modena High School', I assumed that it was just some bored kid's high school project that spread too far across the internet rather than something believable. :S

I wouldn`t consider myself a SpongeBob fan but I can take it in small doses. However,I will admit that I laughed my ass off at the episode where the characters "swore"
