Mako isn't "badass." We haven't had a "badass" Sentai girl since TimePink and even she doesn't quite hold up to some of the heroines of older series. I think Yellow might be a bit like Moune or Ranru character-wise - tough, but in a cutesy-ish way

How was Sakura or Jasmine or Ran not badass? Especially Mele. She was totally badass.

Jasmine's not so much badass as she is straight laced and Ran always seemed to be trying too hard to break the mold.

Though, Sakura. What. She'd go giddy giddy school girl around Akashi so often and, hey, I could understand if her character wasn't meant to be some soldier/explorer that's a bit more sage than the past Rangers, but that's something I'd expect from Magiranger.

It is, but it's usually romanized as "Arata."

Mako was the closest thing, had it been for her motherly aspect I would fear her.

Moune, to me has fake toughness, it shows because of her immaturity. I thought she would be my long waited for full on tough girl, but they played around too much with her character in the beggining. Now she's just playful.

I think Luca might be able to talk ****, and back it up as well. Plus she's hot. I think she best fits the Beyonetta character type.

It wasn't supposed to be, they were supposed to signify the earth since they're Angels. Like Agri = Agriculture, Eri = Air, Hyde = Hydro/sphere.

I get the impression that all the Goukaigers could be borderline anti-heroes. A bit like Carranger where to a greater or lesser extent the Rangers were deliberate jerks

Alata/Arata is an ordinary name in Japanese though. There's a guy in D-Date (a sub-unit of D-Boys) called Arata Horii, a Japanese football player called Arata Kodama, and many more
