The Obama Deception - WAKE UP!

Why then is Obama not bringing our guys home as he promised? Instead he is asking for like 80 billion more for the war. I want him to do what he said he was going to do and end it now, bring our guys home, and stop spending money on the war that should have never happened.

Not that simple. Not by a long shot. What got started over there cannont be ended in a couple months. It will take time, money and a lot of work to undo what was done and bring the soliders back.

I also want to have you clarify your statement keith. You state the thing about actual innocents and then a bunch of US soliders. That could come off as though you are looking down on the soldiers that have died. IMO they are innocents also. Made to fight in a war they didn't ask for. Made to fight in a war caused by lies.

They're definitely innocent, but they are soldiers. They signed up to serve their country. By innocents I meant non-combatants.

Yeah I know it will, but I still wish they could come home now. Yeah they did, but the war in iraq isn't serving their country. It is serving a lie. I know that might hurt some peoples feelings, but it is the truth.

Well you can't expect anyone to correct the problems created by the Bush admin from the last 8 years over night. It will take years to get back to where we need to be, regardless of who ended up in office.

Man, reading your post again, lol. Republicans and their wild accusations!

Where do you people get off with the whole socialist crap? Honestly, broken record much? Or is it just fun to say? These same people know next to nothing about Obama and what a real socialist nation would look like. Believe me, we are no way even close to that. Give that crap a rest.

And you need to get your news from places other than Fox.

The Republican Party loves to use the word "socialist" because they know it will make the "base" think of the Soviet Union and the Cold War etc.

Basically they do it because of one thing. Fear.

With the "base" of the party they appeal to the most base fears of that base. Especially the various talking heads like O'Reilly, Limbaugh, Beck, etc. Because hey, when you can campaign on paranoia, ignorance, and outdated prejudices you don't have to have ideas to meet the challenges of a new century. You can just hide behind the bible, the flag, and the military.

If the Republican party wants to save itself for starters it should try laying off the damn fear monger tactics, get out of the 1950's on social issues, and out of the greed-is-good 80's on economics.

^What matt said pretty much sums it up. Great post!

I have my share problems with Democrats, but Republicans have to start making some serious changes if they ever want my vote, especially with regards to foreign policy, propaganda, social issues, and ESPECIALLY religious agendas.

Areed with everything up there.

It's funny, because every time of think of Republicans being all deranged and acting like it's the end of America since Obama won the election, I can't help but see (being a nerd and all) alarming similarities to fictional things like the dark side/the Sith from Star Wars or the anti-mutant group Friends of Humanity from X-men. It's scary that someone's ignorance can be so extreme that it makes them resemble inherently evil fictional characters/groups...

You know that goes on both sides. I have seen Democrats attack people for not supporting Obama. I have heard more than once that if you are not a supporter of Obama then you must either be against change or a racist. Some people go as far as to physically attack people that don't agree with them... ON BOTH SIDES. I think it's very hypocritical to say that only one side are always the bad guys. There are bad guys on both sides. I don't see why BOTH SIDES don't get that.

I'm sure it's there and I condemn those actions... I just don't see them ever or as often.

it's ironic that just a few years ago conservatives were calling liberals traitors and unpatriotic for not supporting bush, now they're accusing obama of socialism and refusing to give their support :anime:

Yeah, what Keith said. I was referring mainly to the whole hatred thing. Repubslicans don't seem like they are able to understand the fact that the U.S. is not the only country in the world, and that it's not "it's us, or them" anymore. We are all in this together, and Obama has been the first politician (that I know of) in a long time to commit to sitting down with countries that we have bad blood with and trying to resolve things instead of just hating each other till the end of time. Why are Republicans scared of the world trying to work together and get along?
