Here's the deal HJU, I'm doing a marathon of Faiz and Kiva up to their respective halfway points, to try and see once and for all if the latter series is truly a gothic rehash for the former. What I need from you HJU is a serious list of every Toshiki Inoue writing cliche you can think of that I can use as a checklist as I'm watching. Stuff like:
"Female Rider Backfire"
"The Fricking Obvious Plot Point That Nobody Will Figure Out Until The Series Is Over"
"The Uber-Ass"
- Character derived from Gai Yuuki (Kusaka from Faiz, Otoya from Kiva).
- Love Triangles.
- Bad guys come in four (Vyram, Lucky Clover, Checkmate Four).
- Playing Hot Potato with the Rider Belts.
The pretentious, angst indulgent B story that takes nearly all time and focus away from the A story as well as the main characters and action. Afterall, you weren't actually there to see Kamen Rider were you? Of course not. Here's two teenagers being sad by flowers.
[hide]That actually made sense within the context of the story. For Yuri at least, I think Megumi doing it was stupid. And they henshin in the movie, fight and survive...so doesn't Inoue get at least some credit for breaking that trend?[/hide]

I will admit that when I saw the TV series episodes, it did reek of a cop-out but with the movie review, maybe it is a good sign that he broke out of it. At the same time though, there is a part of me that thinks that it's just fanservice and nothing else. Either way, I'll have to wait until I see the movie for myself. [/HIDE]
Yes you do. For the last time, Keisuke isn't the seed of Kusaka. Having a flawed view of good and evil, and not exactly being the life of the party doesn't make one a jerk. What is wrong with people that makes them continually say this?
Ryoutarou already covered this one, so we'll move on to:

The term that comes to mind here is "second verse, same as the first", meaning that the logic may be different but the traits are still there. The big one for me is Nago's zero tolerance Fangire vendetta that's all too reminiscent of Kusaka's towards the Orphenochs. I'll admit that he's a step up from Kyosuke from Hibiki but even then, that's only because he doesn't exist solely to cockblock our hero. Yet.
