Having just finished the 2005/2006 series, I was pondering starting up a Guyver-themed RPG. However, I wanted to see what people's feelings on such an endeavour might be - I know there was a Guyver RPG a couple years ago that sort of kind of fizzled out from what I could tell from reading the archives - my aim would be to do a couple things with the Guyver universe if I were to run an RPG in it:
1.) Mix the live action and manga/anime universes
2.) Tone down the "Dragon Ball Z" sense of escalation
3.) Deviate from the original manga story sometime before/during "X Day", when Chronos/Kronos/Cronos takes over the world.
I would also like to try and make each Zoanoid and the various stages thereafter (Hyper Zoanoids, Lost Numbers, etc) feel more important - this would probably also mean thinking more in terms of the live action movies which were more "restrained" because of a lack of budget. I would be open to having a few more Guyver Units, but would still probably restrict the number and ask that each one make sense and feel important to the overall story. Really, I'm open to hearing everyone's thoughts. My hope would be to create something that feels familiar to Toku and Guyver fans, but that ultimately brings something new to the table as well.
