Kamen Rider Meta
(Is it way to early to speculate on this stuff? Yeah probably but when it comes to toku, I'm impatient so phooey)
In the year 2011, it will be the 35th anniversary of Super Sentai.
It will also be the 40th anniversary of Kamen Rider.
This anniversary is perhaps the one time where Toei can bring something really magical together (Even though they probably won't) Why? Well a few factors.
1) Decade happened-Decade probably was Toei's gift from toku god. The series itself...well, your mileage may vary on it but the point is that not only did it introduce a new way for Toei to do pretty much any sort of special crossover in the future, but it also was the season that brought us All Riders vs. Dai-Shocker and it showed that Toei can, in fact, celebrate an anniversary in some way. Maybe not the way everybody wanted but at least show they can do something with it (seriously did anyone ever think Toei would ever care enough to put all the main Riders on screen at one time? The fanbase needed that) Now maybe the final Decade movie will be the last we see of Decade...but honestly, knowing Toei, I highly doubt that.
2) Den-O is still going strong....kinda-I say kinda because I think Toei cares a little bit more about Decade nowadays but considering the Chou Den-O movies are supposed to be a series, they've shown that they can keep characters around for a heckuva long time. At least if it serves them well of course.
3) Data Card Dass-Oh sure, it's just a children's card game and you're right but we know that it's going to carry on into Sentai with the new series. Will that lead into an opportunity for something (A Sentai/Decade Final Attack Ride would be nice)
Now, does that mean when we go into the next series after Double, am I expecting Double ending with a mega rip in dimensions as Shoutarou and Philip to talk to the next Rider and be all God-taru with "You must destroy the destroyer of worlds" as he becomes the Rider celebrating a full 40 years being Decade's true ultimate enemy?.......Yeah, yeah I would really like that.
But being logical here, I think this is the time for Toei to show they can really do something with both anniversaries here. But as history has shown us, maybe the 40th anniversary will be just another series. Who knows. (I guess I'm a little more than interested since Double will be finishing earlier than usual and the next series would technically start next year)
And let us pray....that Toei takes it even further and manages to get "ALL" riders on screen. Literally "ALL" of them (so I can get my Amazon/Shin/Gills teamup that I've always wanted
)
